Corks

I know I'm asking for trouble but... what can I do with a load of used wine corks? Apart from hanging them on OH's leather hat. We've gathered a lot over time and it seems a shame just to chuck them out...

If you tuck a few into your bed, they are supposed to prevent cramp.smile

When we had a restaurant, we used to collect a lot of corks. DH made lovely notice boards with them.

I put them on the ends of garden canes to make them safe when supporting plants.

Use real corks as kindling when making a fire and bin the plastic ones.

Fewer real corks about these days, MOnica. Wonder what's happening to all those cork oaks in Portugal? Another industry down the pan?

They were too unprofitable, they grow so slowly. No-one could afford to plant new trees and wait for them to mature.
