My son called his "dad" the donor (not to his face). Sounds awful I know but considering he up and left when he was less than a year old, he did have a point.

Why is spermie childish ?? It's short for sperm donor. He doesn't deserve the title of father he has never acted like one since the day his eldest was born. Several GN's know I use that name for him.

I agree ninathenana My sons "donor" never deserved to be called dad or father. He was never there for him and when he died my son went to pieces for the loss of a father he had never had. I reluctantly attended his funeral (with my son) and he wasn't even mentioned in the very elaborate service.

I know what it's short for. I'd use 'his dad'. Or even 'his waste of space dad'.

I do think nina has a point though jings. To me a dad or father is someone who is around. Maybe not all the time but he is in your life. My sons "dad" did not deserve that title. He was never in his life, he did not contribute to his upbringing either emotionally or financially.
