Recommendations for a pen please

I'm looking for a pen that writes smoothly and doesn't leave blobs.
Don't really want to pay more than £40.

I would point you in the direction of cultpens.com. I have used them for years. They have an almost infinite selection. They do not sell the type of pen you wish to avoid. Have a look, plenty of choice in your price range.
