Yet another excellent series about prison life. The standard of acting is off the scale. I’m going to have to binge watch all three episodes, harrowing as it may be.

Did he not (in effect) resign at the inquest into Ushindi’s death?

Yes but that was from that job. Now the governor has been exposed as corrupt his job might be available and Bailey could get it and try to introduce the old activities the prison used to have.

Another one adding superb. David Tennant and the young lads, particularly.

If there’s another series and Bailey does become governor the producers would have to suspend reality in introduce the old activities because in most prisons and young offenders institutions these activities were cancelled because of cuts in funding and not being able to recruit suitable staff.
Experienced officers cost money.

Not something I would normally watch but it was recommended by several friends. We watched the first two series and have just seen episode 1 of the third. As others have said riveting, harrowing viewing. Superb acting from all the casts. Surely up for some awards.

I thought Bailey had resigned and the scene of him walking away symbolised him walking from job. No clear future for him, unlike the chaplain (Siobhán Finnerty) who at least had a positive future.
If there is another series, it's unlikely to be in the same institution - they've had men's prison, women's and now young offenders (male).

Such a hard watch I almost couldn’t bear it but it was so worth it.

Superb. Jimmy McGovern is just the best for hard-hitting dramas that make you think.

I wish Bad Girls was brought back with new characters. This was a better series than Time and the characters were more memorable.
