Anyone watching Replacement I found it slow going with far too much involvement with the business side of the story I didn't feel any great connection with the characters but I m sure it's much too early to judge and I ll. stick with it the ending was scarey, I jumped

Yes, I watched it. It's a three parter so I will watch it all. I found it interesting but I wouldn't say it was a "thriller" as described in the trailers. The new woman is creepy.

I thought it was a bit slow initially but then began to engage more with the characters.
A different slant on the usual thriller, I will continue to watch it.

I gave up and turned over after half an hour.

f77ms Wed 01-Mar-17 07:47:17

I thought it was excellent , so many twists and turns to come I imagine .

Yes it was quite good for Tuesday night tv. I agree it was slow at the start, but I guess we needed to meet everyone. I think Paula's husband has something to do with this.

Greyduster Wed 01-Mar-17 08:39:18

I don't like psychological dramas, so I deliberately didn't watch this. DH seemed to enjoy it.

PRINTMISS Wed 01-Mar-17 08:40:02

Enjoyed it, and will watch all three to see how it evolves. Good that there was not too much filmed "in the dark" and we could understand what was being said.

merlotgran Wed 01-Mar-17 08:48:29

I thought it was very good. Reminiscent of the Ruth Rendell psychological thrillers of old.

cornergran Wed 01-Mar-17 09:37:57

Intrigued by this. Am I right that Ellen's husband was her psychiatrist? If so is that ethical, ever? Setting that aside I am fascinated by what seems to be manipulation and the dynamic between the characters. Thought Paula's husband seemed very uncomfortable. The shots of their home also seemed creepy. Mr C hasn't yet predicted the end, unusual in itself hmm.

Eloethan Wed 01-Mar-17 11:55:35

So far, I think it's really good.

Teetime Wed 01-Mar-17 12:02:53

I agree I thought it was good and will be watching next week.

Karanlouise Wed 01-Mar-17 12:30:23

I really enjoyed it and felt it was a bit different from normal. I think Ellen's husband is involved in some way. I agree with you cornergran, I don't think it would be considered ethical in anyway.

Anya Wed 01-Mar-17 12:30:58

Really enjoyed it.

Recorded it, so will watch tonight, sounds quite quirky.

Grandma2213 Thu 02-Mar-17 00:30:30

I found it fascinating and have already developed several 'theories'. f77fs I agree there may be many twists and turns to come. Sorry Greyduster I love a psychological drama. shock shock shock

PRINTMISS Yes hooray - very little filmed in the dark so I didn't have to put subtitles on! May it stay that way. grin

Elrel Thu 02-Mar-17 01:52:43

Very well and cleverly written I thought. Ellen's estrangement from everyone at work seemed so logical and inevitable.
Paula seemed like a reincarnation of TA's Rob Titchener at times. So manipulative yet so apparently helpful and cancerned.
Creepy indeed, Nina.
I loved those Barbara Vine books, Merlot, so clever and totally absorbing!

Pittcity Thu 02-Mar-17 08:07:26

Rewatched last night through to the end because of the football. Still not enthralled but now need to know what's going on. ...

BlueBelle Thu 02-Mar-17 08:19:37

I m with you Pittcity it didn't pull me in very much but I am hopeful it will improve and want to give it another shot to see where it goes I do enjoy anything psychological but got bored with all the 'boardroom' stuff but hopefully that was just setting the scenes

HildaW Thu 02-Mar-17 08:33:40

Hmmmmm as if Women do not have enough worries and guilt tied up with having a job/career and a family! This is one I'm happy to miss.

Morgana Tue 07-Mar-17 19:05:31

I had maternity leave for both of my pregnancies and could really identify with that feeling of concern and jealousy about someone taking over my job permanently. Mixed with anxiety about childbirth. It took me back a good few years!

Morgana Tue 07-Mar-17 22:06:03

Well who would have thought she had just had a baby?!!!!! And who believes two coppers and then two social workers would have been straight round there? Why are they living in that small house when she is an architect and he is a psychologist? Good job there is only one episode left!

Coolgran65 Tue 07-Mar-17 22:25:35

Pretty agile on her feet for having had a recent c section. Yer man fairly pulled her up the stairs at some speed when going to get dead wife's phone.

merlotgran Tue 07-Mar-17 22:31:55

I love it.

Eloethan Tue 07-Mar-17 23:01:58

It's brilliant. Both actresses are really convicing - and Vicky McClure is exceptionally creepy.
