The Good Karma Hospital

It's a sort of feel good Call the Midwife sort of programme. Just right for Sundays.

Once DH stopped complaining about being forced to watch two feelgood medical dramas back to back, I was able to enjoy it.

I think Amanda Redman had something to do with it. He used to love her in New Tricks!

Ooh goody. I've got it recorded and am looking forward to seeing it. Saw my recording of 'Apple Tree Yard' yesterday. Everyone had raved about it but I thought it was horrible. Fingers crossed I agree with everyone on this thread!

Thought it was totally predictable - maybe because we watched it just after catching up with Taboo! Won't bother again.

It was predictable but was a bit of fluff for a Sunday evening in front of the fire, and none the worse for that.

Watched it, it was o.k. but nothing outstanding, as Badenkate says predictable. We gave up on Apple Tree Yard after the first episode Kitty, and we are also getting a little tired of Country File which seems to be struggling for something new. Think it needs a break. I must be feeling grumpy this morning.

We forgot to tape it so I'll get the first episode on catch up. I agree with you, printmiss - Country File definitely needs a shake up.

Well I agree its nice and light for Sunday evenings BUT it was a bit Casualty meets Best Marigold Hotel- nice and colourful though and the characters will develop.

I enjoyed it as well. Nice light Sunday evening viewing before I am back to a full weeks work on Monday.

I quite enjoyed it, nice light viewing. I just hope Amanda isn't going to be over bossy. She didn't seem to do much either, considering how busy it was!

Yes, I quite enjoyed it, lovely scenery and gorgeous young doctor!! (can't remember his name} but it was a bit predictable and that reminiscent of Call the Midwife in the way that baby was huge in one scene and tiny when bundled up in her father's arms!

Well I confess to being a little bit disappointed. I couldn't get the point of Neil Morrisey who just seems to play himself. The bit about the father wanting a boy and then getting another girl was poor too. The young doctor placed the baby girl in his arms and suddenly he was smitten. I don't think so.

I will give it another go next week though and I think that Amanda Redman was good at playing the bossy doctor and I liked the ambulance adverting beer.

With a name like The Good Karma Hospital it was bound to be fluffy gillybob. But the sun and scenery is perfect for winter. Quite relaxing and not at all Casualty (which I can't stand!)

I suppose it was worth watching for the sun and the scenery NfkDumpling but that was about it. I expected Phyllis Logan (Downton Abbey) to have a "permanent" role not just a quick scene. Maybe they tried to cram too many little pieces into it instead of concentrating on one or two decent story lines. Wedding on beach to brain tumour in 20 seconds flat ?

Thank goodness it's not just me Jane10 it makes me cringe and in the few episodes I have seen the acting was terrible although Mrs Trunchball, was okay.

I cannot stand Call the Midwife and the title of The Good Karma Hospital put me off although I do like to watch Amanda Redman. I will catch up with reading on Sunday evenings although I do enjoy Dragons Den.

I'm another who doesn't like Call the Midwife. I watched the first series and then felt I had had enough of my womb contracting every time someone gave birth - its been going on too long and has exceeded the source material long ago.
