Poor Joni Mitchell, reported that she is in a coma tonight and unresponsive.
She made me cry with her Both Sides Now in Love Actually. Lets pray she comes round. X

Oh no - I hadn't seen this news ruby lady. Joni has been with me through all kinds of life experiences. I'm off to google

That's sad news. I knew she was very ill, but sounds like things are worse now. Another Joni fan here - Big Yellow Taxi was my fabourite.

I've just googled and her official website insists she isn't in a coma. it says she is responsive and in control of her senses but remains in hospital. She's been there since the end of march hasn't she - so she's clearly very unwell.
I love her music and enjoyed seeing her live at the NEC more years ago than I thought possible.

I am currently enjoying Joni Mitchell's music for the first time rubylady as I was too young to appreciate it first time around . Currently blasting the Blue Album in the car . Carey is my favourite song and listening to it takes me to a warm beach somewhere. I do hope she pulls through. sad

Am I the only GN person to have had a baby to the music of Joni Mitchell? It was a home birth and the midwife encouraged DH to put on some music. Tunes to push togrin. Hope Joni recovers.

Blue is my favourite album gillybob. 30 years ago I went to Crete for the first time and went to Matala, where a lot of that album was written. The Mermaid Cafe was by then an ear ring shop, where I bough some gorgeous long ear rings. I visited the caves, swam in the sea and generally had a Joni fest.
We visit southern Crete most years and I always find that "the wind is in from Africa".
Get well Joni

Oh no. My DH will be so upset. He absolutely loves Joni. He has all her albums and has seen her live. Her voice has never been my cup of tea but I appreciate the wonderful songs she has written. sad

Just told DH who immediately went online. Her website says she is not in a coma and has denied the reports. We shall see.

How amazing Iam64

I would love to go to Crete one day. smile

Perhaps we should swap DH's KatyK as mine doesn't care for her much I think perhaps I am pushing him over the edge playing the same album over and over

I only have The Blue Album. Can anyone recommend another JM album please?

KatyK Wed 29-Apr-15 14:44:53

Maybe we should gilly. DH has most of her albums. Just asked him for a recommendation and he said Blue is his favourite followed by For the Roses.

KatyK Wed 29-Apr-15 14:49:29

DH has just said Joni has a compilation album called Hits which you might enjoy gilly

gillybob Wed 29-Apr-15 14:50:00

I've just done a bit of a naughty thing and ordered a complete box set of 10 albums from Amazon KatyK. £25 which I suppos is very reasonable for 10 albums. Can't wait to get it now. I will try For the Roses first. Thank your DH for his recommendation. smile

Iam64 Wed 29-Apr-15 14:57:30

For The Roses is a wonderful album. I did have them all but some were borrowed and not returned. I do have a greatest hits compilation, great to sing along to in the car grin

KatyK Wed 29-Apr-15 15:03:48

Oo gilly. Good for you. Yes I will thank him.
