I am enjoying this programme, it seems to be getting more and more intriguing as each episode goes by.Snow, ice, bleakness, death and polar bears,if you want to know what it's about!

We've got it on series link and have just watched part one up to now. I think I like it but I might have to ask questions at a later date. grin

I have quite a job telling who is who and OH and I are forever asking each other "Which one is he?" OH is very keen on it and I usually finish up watching by default - for me it is just OK and no more.

We're watching it and the confusing characters are the bearded ones who walk around with guns - hard to make out their faces! I "sort of" follow the action but mostly kick back and watch the scenery - the real winner of the show.

Isn't Sarah Lund a lot less interesting sans jeans and jumpers and loose ponytail! grin

I am enjoying this, not sure who is who , but it's getting clearer as the weeks go by, worth it for the scenery . Michael Gambon and Dan I have just about sorted, and the policeman who,is having an affair with the waitress, and the mad dad on the boat and his sidekick with the frozen mammoth.. I need some sort of crib sheet, but i am looking forward to the next one.

It was confusing at first, I agree. once you sort out the characters though, it becomes easier to watch.Various plot lines leave you thinking what? Who? why? It's taken until now to get to grips with all that. Now I feel more interested in the whole thing.I need to put on a cardie to watch it as it makes me shiver, all that snow and ice and freezing winds.

We were watching the latest one last night when the sky suddenly went totally blank! Might have been an omen! confused

SPOILER ALERT

Please someone tell me what's going on in Fortitude? Are we really to believe that the child inflicted those dreadful wounds? If we hadn't wasted committed so many hours to it already, I would bail at this stage. Can't make head nor tail of it now.

And it looks as if everyone is going to get some dread disease from spores that have been frozen for millenia and now released ... (which is not impossible, I read a fascinating factual book a while ago about how they found live traces of the 1918 flu virus in remains in the perma ice cap).

We've given up!! Too many men with beards and parkas looking the same through the perpetual snow. Love some of the furniture though!!

Mishap Thu 05-Mar-15 22:00:07

Oh good grief!! I don't think I ill watch any more!!!

Mishap Thu 05-Mar-15 22:00:49

I'll - not ill - although it might be more appropriate!

suzied Fri 06-Mar-15 06:47:59

It's obviously the doctors daughter, couldn't watch the last bit!

Eloethan Fri 06-Mar-15 13:37:10

This is on Sky isn't it? If so, I can't watch it.

On Matthew Wright this morning the TV reviewer gave it a fantastic review. Am I really missing out or are some of these reviewers not to be trusted?

Mishap Fri 06-Mar-15 14:31:07

It is beginning to border on a horror film - do not watch it if you do not have a strong stomach! It is gory in a decidedly depraved way - my life will be complete with it I think!

Grannyknot Fri 06-Mar-15 14:46:42

without mishap surely? smile

suzied what do you mean the doctor's daughter? That boyfriend of hers is the creepiest character I've seen in a show in a long time.

Coolgran65 Fri 06-Mar-15 14:56:53

Hoping it will start to come together soon.....I have been liking it, but we need to get a little bit of a lightbulb moment or two.

Mishap Fri 06-Mar-15 15:27:37

Without - definitely!

Didn't you see last nights episode Grannyknot? The large lady who is the doctors daughter( why didn't her mother give her some diet advice seeing as they live in the same house?) and the gruesome way she killed her mother ( apologies to anyone who hasn't seen it) the bit with the fork... Oh I am hoping it all becomes clear ...not holding my breath though. I've no idea who the creepy boyfriend is and why he was trying to forcefeed her. !anyone have any ideas?

Grannyknot Fri 06-Mar-15 17:21:05

I think the boyfriend is a "feeder".

We did watch last night's episode but I realise we missed the last 10 minutes (the phone rang) - and husband said "Oh, let's save it for tomorrow night"). Don't worry I don't mind knowing beforehand, I watch killing scenes through my fingers anyway!

Mishap Fri 06-Mar-15 17:57:25

If you missed the last 10 minutes, then count yourself lucky!

suzied Fri 06-Mar-15 18:49:22

I've had to watch it twice as OH missed it, not, totally clear on who is who, will persevere with it though as I am hoping it will all be revealed.......

Grannyknot Fri 06-Mar-15 21:47:23

Did watch, it is now verging on being a horror film. I don't think I'll watch it any further than this last episode.

Mishap Fri 06-Mar-15 22:15:58

Me too grannyknot.

Sad to watch this series spiralling down weekly. Like Grannyknot (Yo, G!) I don't think I'll bother with it in future. Just had to tell someone! (Just realised that this is a 'ladies only' site, so I won't appear here again. But I'll tell my wife where y'all are!) Cheers!
