Just caught up with this on I Player, I believe it was screened on Tuesday. Thought it was really gripping, can't wait for the next instalment . A different role for James Nesbitt played the distraught father very well.

After Tony killed Garrett he wrapped the body in a blue tarpaulin and took the boat out on the lake and dumped him in the water - left the boat engine going and the boat and the boat went out to sea.

I thought it was concluded as you describe it jingle. The dad consumed with grief and not accepting the boy had been murdered as per the Police Chiefs order to 'deal with him' and once the Police Chief had shot himself the truth died with him as to where the body was.

Ah, I think you are probably right. He would have been a bit of a you know what to leave the parents not knowing though.

Why are you all so sure there is another series? I thought it came to a fairly final conclusion except I don't understand why Tony was in Russia. Weren't the baddies in the French house from Romania?

I was sure it was the conclusion too.Everybody else had an 'ending' [either a good outcome or a bad one] all except Tony.I hadn't heard anything about another series.I thought it was a satisfactory ending, Tony had now become unbalanced by it all.I presumed that Tony had drawn the figure in the frosty window, as he spent the rest of his life looking for Ollie.Of course, if there is another series, then perhaps Ollie could be alive, but as a stand alone ending, I thought it was a pretty good one.Fantastic drama, but yes, harrowing at times and hard to watch.

Sylvie told him that as long as he kept the picture with him, then Olly would still be with him. That's why he drew the picture all over the place, wherever he went.

I read a review on the internet and it said there will be another series but probably with different actors and a different story. Eh? How can that be? Yes, I thought Tony drew the man on the icy window, too.

The series was compulsive viewing, even allowing for the odd bit unexplained (such as where did the injured child find crayons to draw on the basement wall) but it has achieved its aim - to get people talking, discussing, wondering........... and at the same time left the door open for a follow up series.

Could be that there will be a new story but it might link up with this one .

I didn't really understand why Tony was in Poland or whatever country it was. Except that the man who said he killed Oliver was Polish. Maybe this is the link for the next series.

I haven't watched this but saw the end on gogglebox and everyone on there were bitterly disappointed about the ending. Glad I didn't watch the series.

While I utterly support your democratic right to free speech and comment, I'm not sure how valid it is to judge a series you've never seen Tegan tchconfused ???

Because I'm sick of watching films/tv series etc with ambiguous endings which are done, imo not for the sake of the viewer but so they can make another series at a later date. I also felt the storyline sounded quite harrowing [every parents worse nightmare] and only wanted to subject myself to it if it was brilliant viewing.

This last episode, which we`ve just seen on I Player, was the only one of the 8 that I actually understood all that they were saying.

During the final episode, a poster on a wall showed a number of missing children. I wonder if that's the plan, a series of stories about individual missing children in Europe. So, the Romanians and other eastern europeans may be the link to Ian Garrett and the young man who hung himself - i.e. a european paedophile ring.
