Juts read the article in RT (in Smiths don't buy it) re Strictly Come Dancing and it looks dire - no Brucie and a guest list of no-one I have ever heard of except that coarse fruit and veg man and Andy Murray's sour faced mother.
I suppose I will get sucked in but I think its a record and wiz through job now - I like watching the professional dancers but can't stand the rubbish that Tess talks.
Will you be watching?

chloe1984 Sun 28-Sept-14 15:29:46

Aye from me would live Anton to co - present with Erin

HollyDaze Sun 28-Sept-14 15:31:11

What's happened to Erin? She was one of my favourite female professionals.

Deedaa Sun 28-Sept-14 16:00:55

Perhaps Anton could present it and also do a demonstration every week? It would be useful for people who want to improve their own dancing and would give us a chance to see him dance smile

What's the point of watching anyway without Artem? And even more without Artem's chest!!!

chloe1984 Sun 28-Sept-14 16:07:47

Think Erin has had a baby recently. However did see an advertisement for a tour with Anton and Erin early next year saw a similar show with them in Bournemouth a couple of years ago they were great. I think the idea of demonstration is a fabulous idea would be a really good addition to the show.

HollyDaze Sun 28-Sept-14 16:08:23

Yes, I could live with that scenario Deedaa grin

I would never be so crass as to oggle men's chests, biceps, the way they move when they dance, gaze into their partners eyes (especially Alijaz but, if I was that way inclined, I quite like Kevin as well), being romantic. I only watch it for the dance content and I barely noticed Steve Backshall's arms and chest bulging out of his top blush grin

HollyDaze Sun 28-Sept-14 16:13:57

Think Erin has had a baby recently.

Ah, that would explain it. I hope she does return though.

NanKate Sun 28-Sept-14 17:15:14

A partial Aye Papa to Anton definitely and Karen Hardy as suggested by Charleygirl.

Hollydaze are you in the running for a younger gentleman friend ? For a small fee I can put you in touch with a Steve Backshall. grin

Steve was at Uni with my DS. They recently went out for a drink and S B said he had just returned from deepest, darkest, somewhere. Because of his lifestyle he rarely has time for long term girlfriends. Anyway to cut to the chase he said he had taken a rather nice girl out recently in her 20s. She asked him if he liked One Direction, who he had never heard of ! He said he felt very old then. So there maybe a chance for you. hmm

I rather liked the young black man dancing to Good Golly Miss Molly, just my sort of music.

Anya Sun 28-Sept-14 17:19:46

Aye to Anton but Absolutely Not to Barryman.

Teetime Sun 28-Sept-14 17:26:35

Oh dear just seen Strictly which we recorded so we can wiz through the boring bits - Tess is not improving her timing is awful she's not even on the spot when she is supposed to be. Loved the I'm Every Woman dance best of the night , green umbrella was a good second (don't know the names yet).

POGS Sun 28-Sept-14 19:16:55

Just caught up with it.

Blimey what muscles. blush

I like Alison. She has been about on Midlands TV for years and she is just as she has appeared on the show, full of fun.

I thought they were all very good and couldn't believe they did so well for their 'first' dance. Should be a good contest.

I am so glad Bruce is no longer on the show, couldn't stand him or his rubbish jokes.

numberplease Sun 28-Sept-14 22:53:05

Well, I still miss him! Tess and Claudia are flippin` useless. I don`t want Anton in the job, want to see him dancing.

HollyDaze Mon 29-Sept-14 09:26:46

It's a nice offer NanKate but I couldn't bear a man being around even on a semi-permanent basis, I like my freedom and independence too much - a quick oggle is nice and suits me just fine smile

So there maybe a chance for you.

'Ere! I'll have you know my last BF was 45 (I was 55 at the time, 58 now) - I might consider SB to be too old for me lol

How old is he? I don't mean to sound rude but he looks as though he's well into his 40s - isn't someone in their 20s a bit young for him?

I share your view of Simon (Good Golly Miss Molly), I've seen him on a couple of things and he seems such a lovely lad, full of fun and it looks like he'll be able to dance too (I might even think of voting for him!) grin

NanKate Mon 29-Sept-14 12:24:39

Yes Holly I suspect SB is too old for you. He was born on 21.4.73.

Although I have been happily married for almost 43 years, if I was on my own I would never get lumbered with a new man. I agree your independence is so important.

Anyway my cooking skills are so dire it would put any man off. grin

Back to Strictly - yes I will vote for Simon and Steve, however I suspect SB will last only until about half way through.

HollyDaze Mon 29-Sept-14 16:02:46

He was born on 21.4.73. - What! I'm not dating that old codger grin

I was pretty certain I'd root (route?) for Simon, NanKate, before the show started but that defeats the object doesn't it. Probably will though.

I'm still hoping Judy can pull something out of the bag - I love those that seem to be no-hopers learning to do things really well. I wonder how she'll cope with the Charleston!

NanKate Mon 29-Sept-14 17:40:21

Judy's got the figure for it Holly but is sadly rather wooden. I feel sorry for the flack she is getting. Whatever her son says, should not be a reflection on her.

Tegan Mon 29-Sept-14 18:21:03

Any non professional woman on Strictly has to be twice as good as any man because a man can get a way with being slightly wooden as long as his partner dnaces well. I've never understood why larger ladies move so much better than thin ladies when it comes to dancing confused.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 29-Sept-14 19:31:00

I must admit, I'm starting to see where Andy was coming from about his mum. grin

Tegan Mon 29-Sept-14 20:03:14

What did he say?

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 29-Sept-14 20:35:35

Oh! Were you in America?! He told his mum (when she told him she was going in for it) that she would be terrible. grin

Tegan Mon 29-Sept-14 21:09:59

Oh dear sad. She does seem like a lovely person so I hope it doesn't all go pear shaped for her; I've really warmed to her over the past couple of years. You have to be very thick skinned to cope with the media sometimes, I fear; something Andy has learned [I've warmed to him lately as well; must be going soft inmeoldage confused]....

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 29-Sept-14 21:22:11

Yes. I like her. She'll probably surprise everyone.

NanKate Tue 30-Sept-14 08:18:10

I was referring to Andy Murray supporting the Yes Campaign and some in the media saying that would stop viewers voting for her.

Yes I am warming to her too especially after hearing her on Desert Island Discs.

Tegan Tue 30-Sept-14 17:10:49

I hadn't realised he'd supported the 'Yes' campaign openly sad.

merlotgran Tue 30-Sept-14 17:25:43

He did, Tegan but in true Andy Murray fashion he said it was a misunderstanding........when they lost!!

kittylester Sat 04-Oct-14 21:26:06

I can now see where DD2 is comong from blush. Go, Jake!
