Strictly - shall you?

Juts read the article in RT (in Smiths don't buy it) re Strictly Come Dancing and it looks dire - no Brucie and a guest list of no-one I have ever heard of except that coarse fruit and veg man and Andy Murray's sour faced mother.
I suppose I will get sucked in but I think its a record and wiz through job now - I like watching the professional dancers but can't stand the rubbish that Tess talks.
Will you be watching?

The best solution to Brucie is to record the programme and fast-forward over his inane contributions.

I do think it spoils the spirit of the show when quite a few of the celebrities have had dance training. They should go for complete dance novices in order to make it fair. I also wonder why the celebrity dancers occasionally get criticised for the choreography. Surely that is not their fault? I did feel yesterday's show was padded out and too long. I can't say I'm looking forward to Bruce Forsyth's return on the Christmas show but then, I'll be too busy to watch it anyway!

I didn't know that Lona but it was funny Pixie had her 'history' printed and was voted off , in my opinion the show lost a bit of credibility as she was the top performer.

To be fair they were all excellent to watch but maybe the BBC might reflect as to whether or not it is wise to choose in the first place anybody with a 'history' of dance if there could be a bit of a backlash from the public.

Caroline was a worthy winner however given the rules of the show so I shall gracefully say well done to her. The costume department , as always, deserves a well done too.

Well, it is all over now, and I think everyone who took part deserves a round of applause. It must be daunting to go on to an empty floor knowing that thousands are watching, and then have to listen to the judges comments. The costumes were great and the music first class. I enjoyed it, although did not agree with the final decision, but then we all have the right to views.

I thought she seemed to become very good very quickly.

Anya Sat 20-Dec-14 22:25:10

I suspected as much Lona hmm

Lona Sat 20-Dec-14 22:21:41

After reading this morning that Caroline has had three years of dance training, I switched over to Harry Potter.

Also, I think that Vicky Gill, and her wardrobe department, deserve a medal for all the sterling work they put in each week.

I wanted Frankie and Kevin to win, but the one who has advanced the most from being an absolute non starter is Mark. I loved the shows, both of them, and didn`t find them long or boring at all.

Ana Sat 20-Dec-14 22:10:25

I agree.

aggie Sat 20-Dec-14 21:59:17

Yes Simon was the most improved and his last dance was amazing

merlotgran Sat 20-Dec-14 21:57:51

Caroline is a worthy winner but I think Simon deserved it more.

Crow Sat 20-Dec-14 21:45:48

I have been a big fan of Strictly, but tonight's episode(s) is/are far too long. I have found it boring.
I shan't be watching it next year.
I think maybe there should be an emoticon for Grumpy Old woman!!!!!!

Ana Sat 20-Dec-14 20:07:31

too

Ana Sat 20-Dec-14 20:07:00

Me too, merlot.

I wasn't keen on Mark's performance - to show-offy and a bit cringeworthy in parts.

(And why do so many women decide to go blonde when it doesn't particularly suit them? I think Darcey looks washed-put)

merlotgran Sat 20-Dec-14 20:00:44

Two of them have had dance training and two of them haven't.

Almost impossible to tell.

I think Caroline will win but I'd love it to be Simon.

NanKate Sat 20-Dec-14 19:53:15

I can't imagine who will be voted off they all did so well.

Even thoughI have voted for Frankie I think they made an error in having those tables to dance on which slowed it up a bit.

granjura Sat 20-Dec-14 19:38:44

Having said that, I think Caroline will win- my money is on her- wow.

granjura Sat 20-Dec-14 19:18:48

Goodness- they are all perfect, couldn't pick one ;)

NotTooOld Sun 14-Dec-14 21:17:03

Oh, thank you, Anya, that makes sense. Do you think the dancers get paid more money each time they go through - perhaps quite a lot more for being in the final? If that's true, I wonder if it applies to the 'celebrities' too?

Anya Sun 14-Dec-14 21:02:18

I think Kevin is married to Karen nottooold

merlotgran Sun 14-Dec-14 20:35:22

I think Len made the right decision but it's a daft voting system.

NotTooOld Sun 14-Dec-14 20:21:33

But why was Kevin crying?

annodomini Sun 14-Dec-14 20:19:31

I had my fingers crossed for Mark and Karen because I really liked their unorthodox rumba and Jake's cha-cha-cha didn't do anything for me. Good old Len - the right decision.

NotTooOld Sun 14-Dec-14 20:07:49

Mark's through to the final, then. Amazing, considering I believe he was a genuine non-dancer before the start of the programme. Seems like a nice bloke.
