'Strictly' - phew wink

Ana Fri 04-Apr-14 16:05:11

Praise the Lord!

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 04-Apr-14 16:07:52

Oh! You're so mean. hmm

Won't be the same without him.

numberplease Fri 04-Apr-14 16:14:19

It won`t be the same without Brucie, I love him.

Aka Fri 04-Apr-14 16:18:29

Can't stand the way he over-milks the 'jokes'. Time he was put out to grass, but he is amazing for his age.

Charleygirl Fri 04-Apr-14 16:29:53

Could not agree more Aka. I cannot stand the sight of him but he is amazing for his age.

ninathenana Fri 04-Apr-14 16:48:42

At last ! I can now watch the programme without turning the sound off every time he appears.

I wish him well, but I do think he's had his day.

Nonnie Fri 04-Apr-14 16:48:57

Totally agree, it won't be the same without him - thank goodness!

shysal Fri 04-Apr-14 17:22:00

Do we know who will replace him? I am delighted that he is stepping down.

Mishap Fri 04-Apr-14 17:23:47

My OH calls our forsythia bush Brucie.

baubles Fri 04-Apr-14 17:24:03

You can bet your life he won't be replaced by an female octogenarian!

Joelsnan Fri 04-Apr-14 17:25:02

Thank goodness, well overdue. Tess's husband Vernon Kaye would be a good replacement.

baubles Fri 04-Apr-14 17:25:32

Oh for an edit button.

HildaW Fri 04-Apr-14 17:47:00

Hooray!
As to a replacement methinks we need a non camp one - some folks are mentioning Anton or John Barrowman. By this of course I do not mean non-gay, ones preferences are unimportant - just think a bit of butch is required to balance out all the sequins.

Watching pointless at the moment - thinking Alexander would be a good replacement.

JessM Fri 04-Apr-14 17:52:46

Yes people are mentioning a lot of men. Tess does a great job and she should lead the show. She has earned it. And as far as the second presenter goes, why should that not be another woman?

petra Fri 04-Apr-14 17:53:31

There is a God in heaven. I won't have to record it now, as I have had to to get rid of him.

merlotgran Fri 04-Apr-14 17:56:16

Thank goodness! Now I won't have to watch him from behind a cushion in case he does a 'Tommy Cooper' [phew emoticon]

Nonu Fri 04-Apr-14 18:04:46

About flippin" time too !
grin

annodomini Fri 04-Apr-14 18:07:56

Tess and Claudia were a good double act on the occasions when Bruce was absent. They should be given the job.

Atqui Fri 04-Apr-14 18:54:50

Thank Goodness. Unless they find someone equally annoying I shall be able to watch Strictly. However, I admire his stamina.

merlotgran Fri 04-Apr-14 19:05:39

I'm watching The One Show and Chris Evans is dropping some heavy hints as though it's a done job. PLEASE.....NOT HIM!!

whatsgoingon Fri 04-Apr-14 19:23:54

Why does there need to be a replacement. The two girls Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly have always done a great job when Brucie has needed to take time off so why not let them do it between them and just think of the money the BBC would save on Brucies wages!

kittylester Fri 04-Apr-14 19:31:15

About time too but it won't he the same will it? I don't like Tess and Claudia doing it together but can't think who else could do it

nightowl Fri 04-Apr-14 19:54:02

No I don't really like Tess and Claudia doing it together. Tess annoys me almost as much as Bruce. Too much posturing and looks kind of awkward. Hopeless interviewing skills. I find Claudia quite endearing but also quite mad, and I can only take her in small doses. Together I find them, well, just strange. But I can't think of who else could do it either.

HildaW Fri 04-Apr-14 20:42:19

Merlot, quite agree....not Chris Evans!!!!
