Anyone watching this? The problem with watching The Bridge is that all other police dramas seem rubbish afterwards. I think this is the first one that can compare favourably in any way. I remember the first series but this is better.

Who was the Mastermind then? That was not really sorted out - Denton was only a pawn late in the game really and if the tracker had been on Akers car all the time it would not have mattered who the Duty Inspector was, so therefore she was set up by someone.
I think she was tempted by the money to get some part of her old life back and move into a better place and at the same time help the girl Carly.
The Neil Morrissy character was claiming disability - the character said so - and at the end it said he would retire with his pension plus disability of some sort.

I am going to get the box set of series 1. Dot and the caddy thing seems to be something that runs through the series, and will still be there in the next one.

I think it was a very sad ending. She was not really a bad a person. It was all for her mum. sad

Did anyone else notice the young detective getting sexier as the series went on? wink

Oh jingle I sure did. wink

I thought it was a brilliant series, acting was brilliant, story was good and left you wanting to see the next episode.

I think it was a shame that the ending was a bit confusing to keep the character 'Dot' alive and kicking to do another series. I would have preferred to see closure on that story.

Ooh no POGS! This way it leaves us wanting more.

soop yeah, you would glad it wasn't just me. smile

The Neil Morrissey character was faking his disability, for the money. When he ran off into the coppice he gave the game away. When he returned Dot's car to him at the station they made an agreement not to 'shop' each other as they were both bent. That's why he was spoken of at the end as he had got away with claiming disability whilst he was a serving officer and went on to get more money because of it when he retired.

But now we know Dot's a baddie, so it won't be the same...

Ana Thu 20-Mar-14 11:39:59

(if there's another series, I mean)

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 20-Mar-14 11:45:25

It will be - you'll see. [reassuring pat for Ana] smile

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 20-Mar-14 11:46:53

There is gonna be another series. Beeb announced it yesterday.

POGS Thu 20-Mar-14 11:48:13

I hope there is Anna. Keely was so good though I shall miss her talent. I hope she get's a good role again soon.

Bring back Life on Mars she was great in that too.

Bez Thu 20-Mar-14 12:21:33

Yes - I realised that with the disability POGS but someone asked was he actually supposed to be getting it. As they told you what happened with him I wondered if he would feature in another series as they said he only had a year before he could retire.

Left me confused and a little disappointed. The police are a corrupt lot are they not. Not one honest person amongst them. Hope this isn't too true to life.

Agree with Jingle re the young copper.

kittylester Thu 20-Mar-14 15:46:09

I agree with jings too blush

POGS Thu 20-Mar-14 17:14:36

Bez

My apologies I read your post as a question, now I clearly see it was a statement. Sorry. blush

annodomini Thu 20-Mar-14 18:09:43

Flower, I am well acquainted with at least one member of the Police Service who is definitely not corrupt but is pretty cheesed off with some of his colleagues, though more likely for their political opinions than for their taking backhanders.
