Anyone watching this? The problem with watching The Bridge is that all other police dramas seem rubbish afterwards. I think this is the first one that can compare favourably in any way. I remember the first series but this is better.

I agree not sure about any thing can't wait for next week

PRINTMISS Thu 13-Mar-14 07:39:02

SO, who is the baddie then - what excellent acting and story line, like you maxdrans can't wait for next week - although we are going to have to aren't we?

Charleygirl Thu 13-Mar-14 09:16:34

Last week I thought that I had it all worked out but after watching last night's episode, I am none the wiser.

Lona Thu 13-Mar-14 09:38:52

Brilliant episode!
Does anyone else think that maybe the C.Super (with the nasal problem)
is a baddy, as accused by the ACC Dryden?

Or...... is it her again?

kittylester Fri 14-Mar-14 07:36:26

We caught up with this last night - blimey!!!

Aka Fri 14-Mar-14 08:04:16

That 'Dot' chappy seems very dodgy to me. Could he be The Caddy?

Lona Fri 14-Mar-14 09:31:57

Aka I thought the last dead cop was the 'Caddy'?

Aka Fri 14-Mar-14 09:48:48

But wasn't it 'Dot' that used a sort of blackmail to get other to say that???

Only wondering....

Ana Fri 14-Mar-14 10:54:54

But why would Neil Morrissey's character have explained why he got the nickname if Dot just wanted him to say who The Caddy was? It seemed genuine enough to me.

MaggieP Fri 14-Mar-14 11:49:32

We watched the first series also, but please enlighten me as I can't remember, wasn't Neil Morrissey in that series?
This one is so gripping and like you I cannot decide if Lindsay is more involved that we first thought. Superb acting with the interview of the Boss!

Marelli Fri 14-Mar-14 15:24:13

Who is 'Dot'? confused

soop Fri 14-Mar-14 16:00:20

Marelli ditto blush...

Ana Fri 14-Mar-14 16:33:11

It's DS Matt Cotton (nicknamed 'Dot' after the Eastenders character).
He's the one with the rather long face...

Lona Fri 14-Mar-14 16:38:40

I've just read a blog analysing this latest episode, and I'm relieved to know that everyone else seems just as confused as we are!

Marelli Fri 14-Mar-14 17:40:48

Oh - got him! Thank you! grin

kittylester Fri 14-Mar-14 18:33:23

I hope it isn't Dot as I have a soft spot for him!

Was a tad disappointed with the final Line of Duty, mainly because I wanted D I Denton to walk free. However I have just read online the Telegraph Review of the final episode and it clarifies who did what and I found that helpful.

Now for a question for Gransnetters - what was the significance of Denton meeting the girl (in a flash back) who in fact wasn't murdered and the discussion about the necklace ? They showed that bit twice so it must have been important.

kittylester Thu 20-Mar-14 07:55:01

Blowed if I know NanKate . We are going to watch it again and, if it becomes clear, I'll let you know! grin

Charleygirl Thu 20-Mar-14 07:59:11

For me the ending was not very clear. Am I the only one with a few unanswered questions?

Marelli Thu 20-Mar-14 08:23:07

I'm going to have to watch it again - thank goodness for 'catch-up'! It seems everyone was corrupt? Even the Neil Morrissey one (forgotten his name) didn't seem to need his walking stick after all, when he dashed off through the trees near the golf course. Do hope he wasn't claiming benefits.....hmm!

ninathenana Thu 20-Mar-14 08:24:02

No Charleygirl your not the only one. confused

PRINTMISS Thu 20-Mar-14 08:32:17

Me too, thought I had missed something - you know, dropped off into a little snooze in the middle somewhere. I found it really very disappointing as a finale to something which had been gripping for several weeks. What a let down!

grumppa Thu 20-Mar-14 08:48:35

Missed the entire series, but I am intrigued that the Hawes character's surname is the same as the location of A Touch of Frost: Denton CID has become Denton of the CID.

Lona Thu 20-Mar-14 09:35:20

I was a bit disappointed too, but they are obviously setting the scene for the next series.

Ana Thu 20-Mar-14 09:44:11

I think the necklace clips were more to do with Carly saying Lyndsey was lucky to have a Mum who gave her nice things, rather than about the necklace itself. Did she only agree to go along with the plot to get money to help her mum?

So DS Cotton got away with it completely! And Lyndsey got a life sentence because they only had her word for it that she changed her mind at the last moment. At least the Boss had to leave the force, pity they couldn't get him for anything more than perverting the course of justice though!
