She's had her knuckles rapped for agreeing to go on 'I'm a Celebrity GMOOH'
Remember our web chat with Anne Widdicombe? She nominated Nadine Dorries as an up and coming battleaxe.
Not a programme I normally watch but I might have a nosey to see if she's as tough as she should be.

There was also an interesting interview on Radio 4 earlier with Anne Widdicome and Christine Hamilton, during which the news broke that ND had been suspended by the whip (if you know what I mean).

Both parties named above made very valid comments, I was surprised at my own attitude to the comments made by CH, as previously I have not thought much of her at all, but today she was quite intelligent!

I think it was on the Pm programme that starts at 5pm. Worth a listen.

gracesmum Very well said! Anyone prepared to take part on a so-called reality show, has to be a prime twit! hmm

merlotgran Wed 07-Nov-12 11:57:53

I usually watch the first one to see who's on and then the last one to see who wins. Can't be bothered with the rest of it. Surely it's run its course by now?

Ana Tue 06-Nov-12 22:40:47

Hope? confused

Sel Tue 06-Nov-12 22:36:45

whenim64, merlotgran that was a deliberate mistake - I didn't want anyone to think I'd watched it!! Actually thought it was great, especially the Mrs manners person, Liz Somebodyorother. My daughter still lived at home when it was on and we used to laugh together.

Ms Dorries made the 10pm News - there is hope!

Wheniwasyourage Tue 06-Nov-12 21:55:35

Yes, of course she is, but at least those who voted for her would have the satisfaction of not voting for her next time!

gracesmum Tue 06-Nov-12 21:52:21

She is paid to represent all her constituents, not just those who voted for her.

Wheniwasyourage Tue 06-Nov-12 21:40:07

Well said, gracesmum. Couldn't believe it when I heard a sitting MP was pushing off for a month to do something so stupid! I would be angryangry if I was one of her constituents. (Mind you, there is no way I would have voted for her, but still.)

merlotgran Tue 06-Nov-12 21:10:17

grin grin Sel I think her name's Rosemary Shrager. Now, if Shergar turned up in the jungle THAT would be interesting shock

whenim64 Tue 06-Nov-12 21:09:51

Ha Ha Sel Rosemary Shrager would enjoy being compared to Shergar grin

Sel Tue 06-Nov-12 20:46:54

The two I know are Colin Baker, ex Dr Who and Rosemary Shergar - she was on Ladette to Lady, a cook and a nice person I thought. There's a boxer and I think Linda Ronson (not sure correct name).

Surely this will end her political career.

gracesmum Tue 06-Nov-12 20:33:45

I hope the electorate of mid-Beds whom she is supposed to be representing in parliament have a few things to say, not least when the next election comes round.

merlotgran Tue 06-Nov-12 20:27:34

I shouldn't think the people who vote for the trials have ever heard of Nadine Dorries. Who else is going?

Sel Tue 06-Nov-12 19:20:10

It's unbelievable. She's paid to do a job and is taking a month off without telling anyone and putting herself in a place where it wouuld be impossible to do her job. I would like to see anyone with a proper job get away with that. This is no better than the expenses thing, they don't realise they are paid by the taxpayer, not the magic porridge pot. It's a form of theft.

Hopefully the British public will vote for her to do all the 'trials' and she will suffer. Grrrrrrr.

Goodness knows what her constituents think. This is treating them with utter contempt.

Greatnan Tue 06-Nov-12 19:01:13

Gracesmum - spot on, as usual!

Oldgreymare Tue 06-Nov-12 16:19:43

Gracesmum brilliant..... again! smile

Barrow Tue 06-Nov-12 16:17:46

I heard someone say that she has very able staff who can deal with things in her absence - in which case why are we paying her a very large salary? Also it seems she will be missing some very important votes in the Commons - I trust all her constituents will be writing to her complaining of their lack of representation. She isn't a celebrity she is (or should be) a serious politician.

mrshat Tue 06-Nov-12 16:07:59

Well said Gracesmum. Couldn't have put it better myself grin

Ana Tue 06-Nov-12 15:36:55

As Ella said, it stands for Can't Stop Laughing!

PRINTMISS Tue 06-Nov-12 15:35:59

Can we please know what CSL is so that we can all have a laugh. Much needed at the moment

Ella46 Tue 06-Nov-12 15:29:26

I share your anger gracesmum. They should definitely dock her pay!

CSL can't stop laughing ??

gracesmum Tue 06-Nov-12 15:26:12

CSL??
Another point is that she is a public servant and this public employer has not granted her time off *with pay.
(What's CSL?)

Nonu Tue 06-Nov-12 14:16:59

C S L

merlotgran Tue 06-Nov-12 14:06:17

I agree, gracesmum. She said on our local news that she wants to use the opportunity to get one or two important points across. Oh yeah? Hasn't she heard of the House of Commons?
