Do you love looking at 'live' webcams?

Don't know anything about live webcams or how to access them.

Just google for instance 'St Ives Webcam' , a place I love! they will appear. Just have a look at a few and see which you prefer. Google any place in the same way. You can 'travel' anywhere from your armchair!!

I used to watch Pete’s Pond, a live webcam of a watering hole in Botswana but sadly it’s now offline. So many animals visited it and just the sounds transported you to Africa

I watch webcams occasionally too, including ones where my son and family lives for instance, he’s abroad and I find it comforting to look at the streets and beaches where my GC play and go to school. I haven’t seen them for nearly 2 yrs now.

Haven’t watched any of those, but do love TV programmes where I can visit places and people I know I will never visit. Will give web cam a try thank you .

I do love0c, often look for webcams at places we’re going to visit and the cruise ships that dock near us.

The webcams that Chester Zoo do are amazing. I also enjoyed virtual museum and art gallery tours during lock down.

We should have gone to the Canaries for 3 weeks last year, but due to Mr Oops not being well and then lock down we had to cancel.
I watched the webcam of the beach at our resort, 3 weeks of wet and wind!
Here at home we were in the sun……

I like looking at live webcams. We once arranged to be on one so a family member could see us.

I love the "Africam" videos - just go on to YouTube and type Africam in. They have live videos of watering holes in Africa, and other videos with just the highlights. The sounds and sights are wonderful.

Yes I do, you’ve just reminded me I haven’t looked for a while. I find the beach ones relaxing, I love the sea.

I've checked live webcams around the UK nearly every day since the lockdown started. It was interesting at first to see how quiet everywhere was and then to watch places coming back to life. I also look to see what the weather is doing.

I've been watching the Edinburgh Zoo webcams as well as places.

I watch webcams from places I have visited and liked. New York is my favourite have been there twice.
I went on the webcams during the first lockdown it was strange to see empty streets. Now it’s good to see life return back to normality chaotic maybe but it’s life as we know it.

Goodness, a whole world out there I didn't know how to access until now. Thank you all. Ignorance is not always bliss.

I'm always looking at places I've been. Particularly Venice where we've been a few times and which I love.

There used to be one every Christmas following haggis round Scotland - much missed

Polzeath - my “home” beach. Love and long to be there. Especially when I was young when the beach was almost empty compared to the crowds now.

But I frequently go to the live webcam to have a look at the sea.

Redhead56 I watched the Times Square webcam in New York during the first lockdown because it was so weird seeing it deserted, just a couple of people keeping well apart and a homeless person wandering around. Much busier now.

The Shibya crossing in Tokyo is fascinating if you catch it during a busy period when lost of people are crossing.

The Abbey Road webcam in London was amazing (pre-pandemic) because people were posing like the Beatles on the crossing every day virtually all the time. And this was over 50 years after the album cover! It does seem quieter now.

I sometimes look at the Abbey Road one too.

When dd and family are on holiday on Isles of Scilly I look at all the webcams to see what the weather is like and wish I was there. Dh is always looking at webcams of steam railways such as The West Somerset. I am sat quietly and suddenly hear a steam train come puffing through the lounge

I also watch the cctv at the football ground. It can be addictive.

Kate1949 it was just astonishing to see the number of people posing on the crossing, and completely oblivious to the traffic! I often felt sorry for the drivers who could not get moving because as soon as one group walked away more people jumped onto the crossing and stood there like stupid statues! They looked so daft with their legs and arms sticking out, pretending to be the Beatles. I wonder if it will ever get that busy again.
