If you don’t already have WhatsApp I’d recommend it. It’s a free and easy to install app . Once you’ve set it up it will show everyone on your contact list who is using WhatsApp. All of my friends and family use WhatsApp but not all have Facebook.

You can add messages, photos, video clips etc. You can also make free phone calls via the app to any of your WhatsApp contacts anywhere in the world. I receive regular video calls from my family via WhatsApp.

My OH takes a photo of a nice Christmas card and sends it to friends and relatives instead of posting a card. Maybe you could do this by Facebook - I don't use Facebook so can't help you with how you would do it!

You could add a sentence on Facebook for your friends to pass to message on to 'non-facebook' user friends.
Although, I do agree that if you can set-up Whatapp- it is really good, and easy to use once you get started.

I subscribe to Jacquie Lawson e cards for sending Christmas Cards to groups that I belong to. It’s easy to send to a group WhatsApp or individual emails, the App takes you through the process. If you can use GN that you could find this app easy to use.
Very handy when you remember someone’s birthday, but it’s too late to send a card.

Yes Jacqui Lawson very good and not expensive when you think of cost of postage. It covers all occasions.

Personal I know, but I hate to get e-cards, nothing of the person in them luckily no one on my list uses them and although the list has gone down and down through death and maybe postage I ve still got a small amount of cards on display about twentyish so far and a few more to come in but obviously nothing like the forty or fifty it used to be but nevertheless I still like looking at them

Lots of charities do cards now so it is worth looking on the website of your favourite one.. I have sent Alzheimer's Society cards to family abroad via Whatsapp. You can send multiple cards for one donation.

I am with BlueBelle here. We have received two Jacqui Lawson cards and like kittylester find them a little twee.

Avoid Jacqui Lawson if you're sending ecards overseas. Since the company was taken over earlier this year, you've been able to send greetings to many countries but the recipient can't open them - Australia, Cyprus, Canada and Sri Lanka are affected for sure and there are probably others. The new owners don't respond to queries so there's no way of getting this resolved.

As well as cards, I have a short list of people I contact by email each year and they do likewise.
Usually I have a core letter which I personalise, but I’m a bit stuck as at the moment I can’t get online on my laptop where the file is stored. I guess there is a way to access it on my i-pad but I haven’t worked it out yet.
I don’t do Jackie Lawson, though I receive a couple- and reply.

I used WhatsApp this year to wish friends and family Happy Christmas etc and sent just two Moonpig cards to two very close friends.

Many of us enjoy these cards.

It’s easy. Just go to the top where it says what’s on your mind and type a message and post it. All your ‘friends’ will get it in their newsfeed ( in theory).
You can also choose a background colour if you scroll down at the start…or, if you look right, you’ll see a tiny oblong and if you click on it, it’ll take you to your photos if you’ve got any on your device, and you can select one and it’ll add it to the post.
If you do it wrong touch cancel and try again. Or you can even delete it once posted if you look for the little dots at the top of the post.

Jackie Lawson Cards as I have read are still an independent company. Still doing what they do so well. 🎄

I am a huge fan of Jacquie Lawson cards too and renew two years at the time, I have had them for years and years and must have saved hundred of pounds in that time. My friends love receiving them, I make sure they don't get the same card two years running, and I likewise like receiving their comments back from them which is free to them. You can post on FB, send a personal message and on WhatsApp too, it is just so versatile. A get well card, anniversary and anything you can think of and there is a suitable card for the occasion , which will be sent and arrive in minutes. What is not to like. A bit twee, so what at least you know your family and friends are thinking of you and not had to spend at least £3 at the time.

I have informed all my family not to send Christmas cards to me and my DH. They are a waste of trees, money and postage costs.
I have sent Christmas text messages to friends for the last three years, just to ensure they know I am thinking of them.

I love having Christmas cards, and although I've slimmed down the list this year, am still sending them. It costs a fortune in postage because we've lived in several different places, but if I only spend the cost of a card and a stamp on each friend each year,
it's worth it.

If you send Jacquie L cards via email, they can open them in Australia.
