I always buy my matching sets from Primadonna - expensive but worth it. Everyday briefs come from Hanro, silk cami knickers are great under loose maxi dresses in summer - try Sulis. Have not bought M&S knickers since I was a teenager. Never buy white underwear - too virginal. Nude is the best colour under white clothing. Going Commando eliminates vpl as does seam-free. Bottle green knickers were a compulsory part of my grammar school uniform - yuk!

I kept my wine gums in the pocket of my knickers. When at Primary School I offered a boy in my class a sweet, when he saw me extracting it from my knickers he changed his mind. The wimp ?

Sparklygrandma I just can't believe what some females wear nowadays. I have seen flowery pattern pants under tights/leggings. Its like they've forgotten to put their skirt on.

Exactly annepl nothing is covered properly, as a woman I cringe for them. Sometimes you can also glimpse clearly feminine hygiene products worn under the tights.

Oh, my gosh, I LOVE this thread with all of the reminiscing, "girl talk" and the many 's! Made me feel like I was at a slumber party or summer camp. I'm from the states and haven't heard of any of these brands or undie types except for maybe "knickers" which I've seen and heard of a lot but don't actually have a mental picture of. Some of those comfy cotton brands sound great. Have a hard time finding comfortable, cotton things here in the US. Closest I've come to finding any is with Hanes.

I used to wear sloggi but now have M & S flexifit, they do matching bras too but I wish they would do more interesting colours.

I have worn MandS midis for years but have recently discovered Sainsbury’s do packs of all white or a pack of coloured and are cheaper. They fit nicely and seem to wash well so I may be persuaded to change my allegiance- there’s also the bonus of nectar points ?.

Definitely remember trips to Isaac Walton in Newcastle Grannycool52. The windows were full of Back to School displays for a wide variety of uniforms from about early August. Not like now when M and S seem to start full on advertising of uniform before the summer term ends. Much to the annoyance of my teacher daughter who finds it very irritating to be reminded of all she has to do for next term before she is even finished this term and is looking forward to the holidays.

Black John Lewis big cotton knickers for me. Comfort is all.

At my all girls grammar we had black cotton sateen bloomers (elasticated legs but no pocket!) worn under rather nice maroon wrap around skirts for games. Just an airtex polo shirt and the dreaded black bloomers for gym though.

Yes, I wore the clean white ones everyday underneath too, and we had to do gym in the thick navy ones too. For outside games we had funny pleated shorts things at two of the schools I went to and wrap around skirt at the third, plus the averted shirts. Looks like we were all in the same boat there.
