Is there anyone lose who has longer greying hair? It is thick and fine. Like the length but if I am not feeling 100 per cent think it ages me. Don't want to start colouring it as it grows overnight and don't want the bother of sitting in a salon for hours every month, wondered about having it blunt cut into layers, ideas. really after best styles for my type of hair, at present it is just a longish straight Bob!

That’s very kind of you to say that Marmight! I think your hair is lovely as well - it suits you and your sunglasses stay up in it, where mine don’t- they slip back down my nose, or off the back of my head. ?

Love your hair mawbroon , it suits you perfectly! I'm a firm believer in a good, regular short sassy cut rather than the Mary Beard look! I heard her in the radio once, defending her "look" - she is comfortable as she is & is proud of her flowing locks. Good for her but I won't be growing mine as it grows curly & starts to turn into an 'old lady perm' if I don't get it trimmed every 4 weeks.

Thank you for your replies everyone. Anne Widdicombe and Mary Beards hair, isn't a hold look, but I think they should wear it if it pleases them, that's what matters. Mar get I think your hair looks lovely, I wouldn't go longer than that myself. I do not want to colour it again, I have grey streaks at the front, but the back is quite dark, I tried brushing it back and don't know why I didn't do it before, looks much better, I very often tie it back, which I like. The thought of ending up like granddad in Mrs Browns boys will stop me going much longer, I dont have the face for it anymore.

I have been going grey since my thirties. At first I coloured it but for the last ten years I have been grey and I militantly refuse to colour it again. I have a fairly long bob and I get so many compliments about the colour. (I'm 63) I think you have to have a great cut but I have seen women with long hair in a messy bun which looks wonderful. Find a style which you like, and which suits you. Unfortunately my hair is thinning so I have to keep it off my shoulders. Don't be embarrassed about your hair, embrace it and be proud of it.

There are so many women around with long grey hair, I am surprised it is an issue. Some look really good, with stylish well maintained cuts and some look a mess. Just like younger women with long hair.
