Toe nails

Cut and paint in summer. But is it me or the older a person gets the more difficult it is to reach the toenails particularly the little ones - I do end up in some interesting positions

I have mine cut every five or six weeks. Luckily they grow much more slowly than finger nails. I wonder why that is? Oh and I do use nail polish when I wear sandals - a very dark shade.

My feet are the ugliest in the world. Most of the year I hide them.
But painted nails look prettier when wearing sandals, I feel.
Summer seems to have arrived here this week, so my toe-nails are sort of
pinkish-mauve. And I do cut and file them.

I have ingrowing toenails which repeatedly become infected. They also have longstanding fungal infection which is virtually impossible to clear and makes them thicker - so, on the whole, they are better covered up! I wear thin white socks all the time. I have tried to wear some sandals this morning, but have found that it is impossible to fit the orthotic in there.

So, all in all, my feet have nothing whatsoever to recommend them! - and I can only just reach to cut my toenails.

Paint, sometimes, mainly when I'm in "holiday mood" (and then I can't stop lining them up and staring at them)

Mine are short enough but very wrinkled and one keeps cracking half way along. It does not help pottering around the garden in sandals. I really CBA but I do wish they looked better. I just don't do posh nails.

When I had them done for DDs wedding I came home and straight away scraped them peeling carrots.

As long as you spare us the naked between the face and the toe nails we can cope.

My fingernails are always naked too and even my face.

I can't bear people saying they can't bear naked nails and naked faces! Makes me quite defiant and stroppy, not to mention slightly annoyed at the rudeness.

BTW, I clip mine and they are always completely NAKED.

They are naked. I think it's a bit impolite to say that one "can't bear" unvarnished toenails. Fine if one's only talking about one's own toenails but not if talking about other people's, who may prefer their toenails naked, but please make it clear that one is talking about one's own and not someone else's.

Perhaps this is why some people wear socks with their sandals – their naked toenails have been insulted

Clip straight, varnish nails, as soon as I put on sandals. I can't bear unvarnished toes nails, they seem naked somehow! X

Cut straight, file and paint to match finger nails. Today all nails are a fetching turquoise.

Why is a chiropractor doing pedicures

Used to cut them, but can`t get down there anymore, they were getting to look quite disgustingly long, till DIL took me to a friend of hers who runs a chiropractor clinic, she did a beautifully neat job on them, but it cost me £20! Good job they don`t need doing every week! If I sign on as a regular client it will cost £16.

Cut them straight across after a nice soak in the bath; light-coloured varnish in the summer (not bright!). Must do them soon.

Emery board on finger nails, have just started using the Rimmel Nail Remedy stuff recommended on another thread, I think they are improving. Thank you whoever recommended it. Otherwise never use nail varnish on finger nails.

Cut them, straight across, and painted them dark blue.

Just cut and painted my toenails gold. Trying out Avon's gel varnish. Ready for summer now!

My SiL varnishes mine - he did a Fine Art degree.
