Queens Christmas Speech

I don't think I have ever listened to it.

I listen every year

Many years since I listened to it.

We don't usually watch it when it's on but catch up with it a bit later.

When I was growing up we ate Christmas Dinner at 1pm so everything was eaten, washed up and put away by the time the Queen's Speech came on. These days we are probably still at the table (or crashed out on the sofa )

I don't watch it Christmas morning, Christmas at 3pm or Boxing day morning.

I am not keen on the Royal family, I am pragmatic and understand similar money would be spent on elections and a President.

I have never watched it.

I've never purposely turned on TV or radio to listen, I've only heard the bits replayed on the news.

I always watch it, but later. If we (DH) and I were on our own, we would have Christmas dinner over by 3 o’ clock, and watch it then, but seeing as we are with DS, DIL and two GC’s who are not remotely interested in the Royal Family and we are probably either still round the table, washing up or playing some game, I never even suggest it.
It was very much part of Christmas Day when I was young, but change happens.

It's not on Christmas morning, it's on at 3pm in the afternoon.

We were made to listen to it - until we left home. Now, I might just scan a summary of what she said. Will it be another 'annus horribilis' do you think?

Well, there was Beatrice's wedding. And those lovely kids enjoying themselves. And little Archie coming along.

Well, I've enjoyed it.

Beatrice is the oldest one who recently got engaged, her upcoming Wedding is highly likely to not look like the Windsor Castle event of Harry and her sister Eugene.

a daughter in law writes a book, same daughter in law’s telephone conversation with a lover is broadcast for all to hear
and a fire at Windsor .

I have never seen the Queen’s Speech....it’s that voice!
If she had a mellifluous sort of voice I may have listened now and then.

Maybe she should get Joanna Lumley to do a voice-over, lemon
