I too have an autistic grandson and he is about to start secondary school .I am so worried about bullying as he is so innocent and lovely but also gullible.I will pray for yours Doodle when I pray for mine.

Doodle, There was an autistic boy in my DGC class at school and he was getting teased a lot. Now his parents have moved him to a special school and he is much happier. It was with the help of the Autistic Society or whatever it's called.

Doodle, I shall light a candle in church for your relative when I visit town today.

Count me in Doodle my GD who has a cleft lip and palate was badly bullied, it took two changes of school at secondary level before she was safe.
It badly impacted on her education and she wasn't academically inclined anyway.
Now at nearly 20 she is ok and is the greatest help to me.
Please be assured all our prayers will be with you all.

Indeed Doodle consider it done, bullying in any form is absolutely disgusting and something that should and needs to be stamped out on by these Schools.

My DDs friend has an autistic son and he was teamed up with a School Buddy which worked very well for him,can the school offer such a scheme for your DGS.

It’s awful when a child is bullied in school, for whatever reason. Yes of course doodle I’ll pray for your boy, that his peers will see the loveliness that you see rather than focusing on what’s different about him. x

Reading your replies warms my heart. Newspapers seem to be so fixated on bad stuff happening yet you are all proof of the kindness of others.

glamma DGS does have friends fortunately but they too are bullied as they are all "different".

annsixty I had no idea about your DGD problem. I know from your posts how precious she is to you and what a help she has been. I am glad she is ok now.

I don't pray doodle but I hope you will accept my best wishes and supportive vibes anyway. My eldest daughter works with autistic children.
