I am sorry to see Keir Starmer leave. The vultures circled and he had no chance against them.

I think Kemi often displays emotional intelligence which we don't usually see in politicians.
Yesterday she appeared to understand the feelings of KS and showed him personal warmth.

I agree.

I do think she is becoming a credible leader of the Conservatives.

And it looks like Rachel Reeves is going with him.

Shabana Mahmood is heavily tipped to get the Chancellor job.

Personally, I'd settle for The Man In The Moon or anyone, really, who doesn't have a barely suppressed hatred of pensioners as demonstrated by Rachel From Accounts......

Please don’t call her that. It does sound rather silly and demeaning.

At least she doesn’t have a barely suppressed hatred of football fans #justsaying

Where did that come from?

GrannyGravy13 Thu 16-Jul-26 06:53:04

I imagine they are all friendly in the HoP, it’s just PMQ’s which has become a farce.

I thought Rachel looked quite teary, whether for herself or her boss, I’m not sure.

Criticising policy is fair. Claiming someone has a "barely suppressed hatred" of an entire group is mind-reading, not evidence. Let's stick to what she's actually done.

I found it very touching and felt like crying when he left.So pleased that it was all good humoured across the House

I still haven’t watched it properly; I knew I’d get pretty emotional if I watched it live. History will treat him far more kindly than his own party has. Tony Benn once told me that he and Margaret Thatcher had a mutual respect for each other and I think that applies to most politicians. Jess Phillips always seemed get on really well with Rees Mogg.

I always thought that Kemi and Keir were actually quite friendly with each other outside of Parliament. I’d watched them walk in together a few times on tv and you could just tell they liked each other. It is all a bit of a pantomime and show, Parliament. Nothing is as it seems.

Well they all know they could be next for the chop. It is a bear pit.

I was struck by the mutual respect, even affection in the tribute by Kemi Badenoch and the good humour in the exchanges between her and the Prime Minister.
The Commons at its best!
