Giorgia Meloni Gives Trump Both Barrels!

Mr Trump can't help himself, can he?

His latest clumsy, un-diplomatic act is to claim the Italian Prime Minister "begged" to be photographed with him at the recent G7 junket, and he "felt sorry for her".

She didn't waste any time blasting back at him with "neither I nor Italy beg!" in an absolute tirade of anger.

Please take note Sir Keir - that's being a strong PM.

MartavTaurus Sat 20-Jun-26 19:26:45

Well, I don't know if she actually said that, but she put him firmly right! 🤣

MartavTaurus Sat 20-Jun-26 19:23:41

There is also a photo of him attempting to kiss Brigitte Macron and she's fending him off.
To be fair, the French do go in for that cheek kissing business, so she had little choice but to comply with etiquette.

I'm not sure how much live reel was shown in the UK, but there was a funny dance in front of the Palace of Versailles where Trump heads off stage right and Mme Macron swiftly grabs him and tells him, "Hold your horses, we're going in THIS way behind you, up centre".

She was spitting angry - although I 100% believe her, I just prefer Kier's approach I thought her anger was a bit naive when everyone who matters - after 4+ years track-record - knows that Trump loves to wind-up & you can't believe a word he says & very few do. Just chalk it up to an idiot (Trump) fabricating - bit infra-dig to get all het-up about it, he'll just find it amusing.

I’ve seen it & that’s my take on it.
You can clearly see KS looked embarrassed.

Can you link to what you saw please?

Frenchgalinspain Sat 20-Jun-26 17:42:47

There are several reels in reference to The G 7 Reunion that turned into a battlefield.

Frenchgalinspain Sat 20-Jun-26 17:41:36

Ms. Meloni gave that old pedaphile narcissist hell .. And Carney as well ..

There was a post (reel ) that stated Trump has poor control over his bowels and smelt extremely bad like a skunk !!

Look at the Reels on Google You Tube ..

How gross !!!

Well that’s sounds far less like a snub (haven’t watched the original footage)

I think it was rude of Marco Rubio to blank KS at the G7 meeting.
He shook hands with everyone except KS.
If I had had been KS I wouldn’t have bothered trying to be noticed & brush it off.

I don't think he did.

...When Rubio entered the room, he walked in after Trump/ Starmer etc were already seated.
He doesn't seek to blank Starmer - he was just moving one side of the table.
He greets the five people on that side of the table and moves straight to the side/front as though he's going to present something.

He doesn't greet Starmer directly because he is on the other side of the table - 5 of them are not greeted. He just greets the ones he has to navigate past.

This is such a non-story! Please watch the original footage.

I don't hate Trump either but I despise him. I think his statements were symptomatic of his attitude to women.

Trump is a giant orange pumpkin, he’s as stupid as a pumpkin and he seriously needs a lot of mental health assistance!

Good for the Italian PM.

Rubio was extremely rude to KS.

As always KS was the perfect diplomat.

I hope Trump disappears off to lala Land very quickly and very soon.

I hope JS is able to stay in the cabinet.

Our world is one big fat mess!

MT62 Sat 20-Jun-26 16:28:45

Little big man syndrome 🤣 MN

Wheniwasyourage Sat 20-Jun-26 16:21:54

Good for Ms Meloni! Who would have believed what Trump said about her anyway, but she stood up for herself, and I believe her political opponents have backed her, so good for them too.

I agree that Starmer has done well on the international scene, certainly including resisting Trump's attempts to get us into his stupid war.

Rubio - the man Trump called "Little Marco". Another of Trump's sycophants.

What has Starmer to do with it? - he has not been faced by this comment so it is irrelevant. when he is we can judge him on his response.

Starmer has stood his ground on other matters and done so in a statesmanlike fashion. And he sent the king over to give Trump a bloody nose that he was too thick to notice!

What do you mean?

I have just read that Trump is blaming left wing, activist vandals for the mass of algae growing in the blue reflecting pool and turning it green.confused

Magenta8 Sat 20-Jun-26 15:18:10

Just when you think Trump can't get any worse he manages to prove, yet again, that he can and he does.

Despite what's going on with Starmer he is the far better man than Marco Rubio who is just one of Trump's henchmen.
To not shake hands with a leader of another country is a childish thing to do but then look who his leader is.

Yep. I felt embarrassed for him.
KS was the better man for sure.

Smileless2012 Sat 20-Jun-26 14:57:27

And all it's achieved is bad press for Rubio. I hope if he does shake KS's hand at some point, that KS immediately goes to wash it.

Dickens didn't Trump say after he was shot in the ear that God had saved him to rule the USA, or words to that effect. If that's what he believes, then there are no depths to which he won't sink. He is a truly awful individual.

Dickens Sat 20-Jun-26 14:39:34

In protest of what he described as "serious and offensive words" that "offend all of Italy," Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani abruptly cancelled his scheduled diplomatic trip to the United States!

Well good for him - I think it is an insult to the Italian nation.

It's fairly obvious that Trump respects no-one - no individual or demographic - or country. Also, he has no respect for the Constitution, democracy, human rights, institutions etc.

When I see video recordings of him sitting at his desk in the Oval Office during morning briefings and prayer sessions with his Evangelical leaders, admin staff, and the Executive leadership fawning over him as if he is some Deity - talking to him in reverential tones, it makes me recoil in disbelief and despair.

It's alleged that many Americans believe he was chosen by God to rule - I think it's equally likely he believes this himself. He certainly has a very high opinion of his own character and capabilities and appears to believe that everyone he meets is overwhelmed by his presence.

I find it incredible that no-one has had the integrity to stand up and call him out - diplomacy be dammed, the RotW can unite in condemning his awful behaviour surely? Well, the Italian PM got close to it, as did that Danish MEP, Anders Vistisen when he rejected Trump's demand to take over and control Greenland.

... and I am glad that Starmer stood his ground.

Isn't it ironic that the man who said he would end the war in Ukraine 'within 24-hours' of taking office, who, on the campaign trail, chafed Biden continually for 'starting wars' - ended up starting a major one himself, and then insulted his allies because they wouldn't join in with it!

I can sometimes find a redeeming feature or characteristic in politicians who are a scourge, I always look for them. I can't find one in Trump.

Yet, I don't hate him - I believe he's the product of a dysfunctional family, one where the only merit as a human being is making money and winning at all costs.
