Another assassination attempt on Donald Trump

Now I am really worried about the King and Queen’s visit tomorrow.

AGAA4 Mon 27-Apr-26 15:26:46

I haven't seen any post that agrees with killing even someone as odious and dangerous as Trump.
This man has caused or been complicit in the deaths of many people. He has lied insulted other countries and tried to take land that belongs to others. Is it any wonder if he is attacked?
Having said that I don't believe killing anyone is the answer. Trump needs to go but not by violence.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 27-Apr-26 15:27:15

Actually the list is endless.

Try

Land grabbing.
Completely trashing the world economy
Starting an illegal war
Insider trading
Lying constantly

Apart from perhaps one or maybe two people Trump appears universally and strongly disliked on GN.

Good to know that our moral compasses are firmly in tact.

I don’t like Trump but am not so daft as to believe, against all the evidence, that it was staged.

I have seen at least one post on here that fits that bill.

AGAA4 Mon 27-Apr-26 15:31:53

I haven't seen it thankfully!

Colls Mon 27-Apr-26 15:40:56

I think I agree Vintageclassics.
Odd how every so called attempt happens at a very convenient time for him.
And extraordinary that a gunman could get so close on all these occasions - yet did you see the cavalcade of security even Vance had in Rome and last year in Den Hague?
Yet, on these occasions, some old bloke could get onto a nearby roof, hide under a bush, run into a hotel?
And yesterday they led the VP away before Trump!
Pull the other one mate! grin

Oreo Mon 27-Apr-26 15:43:29

Colls
The shooter on the roof was a young guy.
The would be shooter the other day was I think, 32 years old and was actually staying at the hotel.

Wyllow3 Mon 27-Apr-26 15:48:52

How does that make any difference? Better planning by him, or by those who have made it a distraction "set up".

Oreo Mon 27-Apr-26 15:51:05

Oh for Heaven’s sake Wyllow3 it wasn’t a staged thing or a set up.
This thread is quite comedic in a way.

AGAA4 Mon 27-Apr-26 15:57:38

It really is comedic Oreo but for a different reason. Either hilarious or tragic. Believing Trump the biggest liar we've ever known as president is rather sad.

Oreo Mon 27-Apr-26 16:01:15

It isn’t about believing Trump, it’s about believing that the man arrested was who he says he is and why he attempted to kill anyone from Trump’s administration.
His brother and sister were worried he would try something and had even spoken to police about him.

I'm amazed a lot of the stuff some intelligent older women accept without questiom.

Liberated Iranian women ditching the hijab because T had freed them being one example. Like some sort of fairy story.

My post disappeared, apologies if it reappears and I am repeating myself.

To be clear, the connection between my comments and the assassination attempt in that there was shock shared on the subject of what some people believe.

Posters here thought that Trump was a hero, liberating Iranian women. They cited footage of them dancing in the street, removing their hijabs as proof of this.

1960srelic Mon 27-Apr-26 16:21:47

Why didn't Trump, or whoever organised the event, book up the entire hotel so that they could post security staff wherever they wanted? I think it was asking for trouble to have the 'do' in a place where other members of the public were staying and going in and out.

AGAA4 Mon 27-Apr-26 16:22:29

Oreo all this information has appeared since the event. At the time many people wondered if this was a distraction by Trump. My first post on this said that this was either a stunt or the security services were useless.
It still beggars belief that the attacker was in the hotel with several weapons when at other events of importance everyone entering is scanned. A reporter said he and other people were walking in front of the hotel and some just slipped inside easily.
Even the alleged gunman said he was surprised how easy it was to get inm
Is it any wonder that people were doubtful.

I feel sorry for Melania …. It’s traumatic by now.

Why? ….she chose the egregious Trump and tho it’s pretty obvious she’s only staying for her son and the benefits, she has decided to live with the consequences!

Oh Whiewavemark2 do you even realise how smug you sound?
As though everyone here is on Team A and I’m on Team B?

Well at least I don’t countenance shooting from anyone TO anyone.

Some on here sound as though they wished the deranged gunman had actually shot Trump.

Beggars belief.

I don’t it beggars belief.

I don’t think anyone on here genuinely wishes Trump dead, but I can understand passing thoughts, Trump is responsible for worldwide chaos, his orders and actions have killed others, both directly and indirectly.

He’s a man that needs stopping, I’d prefer this was done by locking him up somewhere, a secure unit or prison, but those who think he should just be left to continue his reign of utter chaos and in cases terror, need to think long and hard.

Trump exists in a miasma of lies and diversionary tactics so it is anybody's guess whether this is real or yet another stunt.

Exactly. I hate gun violence and the gun culture in the USA. But excepting the fact that the silly man went through with it, I agree with almost all his Manifesto says.
Tho why except the ridiculous Kash Patel is beyond me. The rest of that horrendous batch all deserved a fright!

dotpocka Mon 27-Apr-26 16:39:18

at least charles is visiting remote

I’m sorry to disagree, but you cannot know 100% this was not a set up, anymore that anyone can be 100% genuine.

I’m still on the fence, the video looked ridiculously chaotic, and I’m afraid I don’t trust anything this man and crew do or say.

It’s utterly bizarre and quite ridiculous!

Pretty sure that was a stunt and not a real attempt, well of course the man would be on the floor etc etc if it was a stunt it would be made to look as real as possible
If it wasn’t a stunt the police must be very inefficient as there was enough of them there for someone with a gun to
get past !!!!

Many Americans believe the ear shooting with the silly bandage wasn’t the real deal either

As info is revealed It was definitely real. But as for the earlier attempt… his ear is in perfect shape not even the tiniest notch…
So that one is definitely suspect!
If ever proven to be staged Trump should be jailed for Murder!

Galaxy Mon 27-Apr-26 16:55:40

If you condone the actions of a man attempting to kill a democratically elected leader you are a fascist. Those people who are so sure that their views are the right ones that they will do anything are some of the most terrifying people.

Galaxy Mon 27-Apr-26 16:58:54

So one of that bunch who 'deserves a fright' a few months ago watched her husband shot in the neck and killed.

Lesley60 Mon 27-Apr-26 17:02:12

I’m so fed up of hearing about this evil narcissistic psychopath, it was obviously another set up by him, he won’t be happy until he has started wars all around the world.
I just don’t understand why congress hasn’t got rid of him.
Clinton was impeached for a lot less, obviously I’m not saying what he did was right but it wasn’t as bad as Trump who is killing innocent people.
He is making America a laughing stock how much more does this awful excuse for a human have to do before he’s kicked out of the White House and transferred to a prison cell where he belongs.
Anyone would think there’s no news to report in the Uk anymore as every time you turn on the news it’s all about Trump and the narcissist will be loving that.

Casdon Mon 27-Apr-26 17:07:08

I think you’ve got the definition of fascism a bit wrong Galaxy, do you mean an extremist, which covers a much broader group of people? I agree that extremists, of whatever persuasion, are terrifying, whether they are in power, or other citizens.
