Some are saying it was a fake attempt to distract from trump’s poor polling figures, the Epstein files and the Iran war. Whatever, they missed again.

I’m afraid this was my first thought, but I think that’s because I’m so very cynical about what’s happening in the US these days.

That was my immediate thought too when DH told me about it.

Now there are 'suggestions' that the injured security officer was hit by 'friendly fire'.
Looking for more detail about this.

Entirely different situation, at that point he had already shot and killed a man behind the President and hit the President on the ear. He had to be shot and killed.

I can hardly believe so many posters unwilling to think this is real, that somehow this would be assassin was paid to run around with guns and knives😁

The majority has been real ‘Alice in wonderland’ stuff so of course it’s quite suspect as to what’s real and what’s not and considering ‘the danger’ he’s supposed to be in it was all pretty lax wasn’t it ? how did someone managed to get weapons into the place in the first place !!!

Trump has consistently lied and misled people, so there is inevitably going to be scepticism about anything related to him where there is a potential for him to make political capital from it. Within hours of this, he said he thought the Democrats would now feel sorry enough for him that they would vote through the budget for public services staff. I’m not assuming anything, that’s the only way to be where he is concerned.

Trump doesn't do anything except for publicity and although I am not one for conspiracy theories I am hearing of more evidence the previous attempt on his life could have been a hoax.

If these incidences aren't hoaxes then why is security around the President so poor, and why has there been no investigation into the previous security breach so at least lessons can be learned?

Yes even MAGA is now questioning his truthfulness.

Because he went there by train and checked into the hotel as a guest.Hotels don’t go through a guest’s luggage so he was able to get dismantled guns into his case.
He never reached the room where the event was taking place.
Given that the US is awash with guns, I’m more amazed that more assassinations don’t take place.

This latest attack does not bode well for the royal visit later this month neither does the fact that Trump is (allegedly) going to demand that the UK relinquishes the Falklands as a punishment for not joining in the war against Iran. It looks as though he might be going to tell King Charles directly to give up the Falkland Islands.

He clearly does not understand the role of a constitutional monarch. Hardly surprising since Trump has proved himself incapable of understanding anything many times.

I am really hoping that, after this latest attack on Trump, King Charles will not be visiting the USA.

Security and police at the very least would have to have gone along with it had it been staged, maybe high ranking officials too.
It doesn’t make any kind of sense to believe that.

Ever since I heard about this attempt to reignite Orban’s popularity by an assassination attempt I’ve thought more and more about how it helped Trump regain the presidency. Even more so when America sent Vance over to help him. Having said that it could be that rogue politicians could have seen how it helped Trump and realised it might be a good tactic. I wouldn’t put anything past the Trump administration.

Reporters are now outside his home in Torrence where he lived with his family.It’s more than likely that he is a troubled person.

I think the point really is that no one really knows whether it was an assassination, but because Trump lies continually and can’t be trusted - ever, - then you are bound to get even his supporters questioning events.

If it were only Trump then maybe some doubt would be natural, but it clearly isn’t and too many people would know about it and there’s always a leak.

I have read that the US giving their backing to Argentina over the Falklands wouldn’t mean anything action wise, and was just a proposed idea in retaliation to the UK not getting involved in the war with Iran ( not that we have the necessary ships to get involved even if we wanted to!) It was a leaked internal memo.
Trump will be more likely to conveniently forget about it more than telling the King anything directly.

From photographs, his ear seems to have completely healed.

It was confirmed by Full Fact that there was no truth in the claims being made on social media that that was a hoax either.

I know Oreo ! I am amazed that intelligent older women can even think that the hundreds of photos and video footage can be fake. The family involved have even reported that their son sent them messages just minutes before he went on the attack telling them what he planned to do. Are his whole family in on this fake act as well? It’s laughable and I bet not one of them will admit their foolish notions when the truth is out.
