Another assassination attempt on Donald Trump

Everything is smoke and mirrors with Trump so how can we ever be sure what is real? At first I didn't doubt it, but then I thought how incredible that a gunman could stay as a guest at the hotel, smuggle all those weapons in and get within reach of the President. That is just unbelievable.

Doh! He had clothes on his bottom half from what I can see and presumably they ripped his top clothes off to make sure he had nothing else concealed.

All the newspapers have photos and video footage of the events and it is obvious it is not a stunt so I hope the people who say it is a stunt are big enough to come back and say they were WRONG! Conspiracy theories - pah!

Maybe they stripped him in case he had explosives strapped to his body. His lower half was covered up by a space blanket so presumably they removed his pants in case he had any more concealed weapons about or inside his person.

Some are saying it was a fake attempt to distract from trump’s poor polling figures, the Epstein files and the Iran war. Whatever, they missed again.

My thoughts to be honest (and I'm not at all a person who goes for any sort of conspiracy theories). If they checked everyone for weapons they would probably have to eject at least half the attendees, if not more! Yes the person got nowhere near the orange man baby.....sadly!

Accusations of a a hoax already, just as there were when Boris Johnson was fighting for his life in a London hospital, seriously ill with Covid in 2020.

I don’t remember any suggestions that Johnson didn’t have Covid, just that maybe it didn’t warrant the extra care he got, in any event we are talking about Trump. I didn’t much care for Johnson but, imo, he was not anywhere near to Trump with Trump’s lies , actions, ranting and accusations. To be fair, I’ve never ever seen a leader like Trump and I pray I never do again!

Nobody, man the gunman, will know if this is a stunt or not, except maybe Me Tump himself.

IMO, it is not at all extraordinary to explore the possibility that is was a planned diversion and if it was of course everyone will treat it as a “real event”, otherwise the whole thing would be a pointless action.

Security wasn’t lax, they caught the gunman, one security man was injured but saved by his bullet proof vest.The suspect was staying in the hotel and brought his weapons into his room by breaking them up.Then reassembled when he wanted them.He told police he wanted to kill Trump’s officials. He lives in California.

The only thing that surprised ( according to the press) was the fact that Trump used the word cognizant in relation to what Malania said.

Not wishing harm on anyone, but don’t they usually shoot first and ask questions later in these situations? I was surprised that the gunman was still alive.

They prefer to take someone alive as they can then find out if they are part of any group and get information.

Trump’s particular brand of “security” don’t appear to have an issue with shooting, particularly as one of their own was shot.

I’m also not one for conspiracy theories, my feelings simply illustrate a huge lack of trust in Trump’s integrity.

The actual real medical examination of Trump, after the first shooting, has never been released.

"security wasn't lax" No it was almost non existent. He got to the security barrier with a gun and knife at least and that was the only security check for an event with Trump and senior statesmen attending.
That's the amount of security for when I go to the theatre. You can't enter the venue without being checked for weapons.

It was a Secret Service Agent who was shot, by friendly fire, it is being released this morning.

They are already spinning the suspects story to suit the narrative. It is like a playbook. Attempt = radical leftist "teacher" who has a long list of anti-Trump writings Except we never see those writings, do we? Luckily there was a room full of journalists and videos are being shared in social media.

I am waiting for verifiable facts to be released. I have spent too many years listening to Trump say "trust me bro" to trust him.

And what about the wives left to fend for themselves under the table, their husbands Vance and Trump didn’t think twice.

It seems an astonishing lapse in security that guests staying under the same roof as Trump and his entourage hadn’t been thoroughly vetted.

That was one man with an array of weapons in his hotel bedroom who was intent on using them. It could easily have been a gang of several more gunmen checked in at different times with weapons ready to launch a coordinated attack on that conference room. There could have been carnage.

Security rescued Vance first. When he was 'safe' they went back for Trump.
