Appalling news. Really. They sound vile.

Sago Thu 23-Apr-26 18:51:32

Yes and they are appealing the refusal for asylum.

You couldn’t make it up.

valdali Thu 23-Apr-26 19:11:14

Having been convicted, I think it's an automatic deportation now so their appeals are scuppered.

Appealing needs to be a more unattractive option, to have some cost for the appealee imo. Not just a mechanism to stay a bit longer having been refused asylum.

Cardamom Thu 23-Apr-26 19:12:24

And one of them, Al-Danasurt, is allegedly, already a convicted murderer in his own country; in addition to the criminal damage charge he picked up within weeks of arriving here on a small boat. He's the one grinning happily as he was being led from court. I'll wager £50 none of them get deported. They'll join the never ending merry go round of endless appeals, costing the tax payer millions, and then win because their human rights are being infringe. Sickening.

Apparently not:
The prosecution added that it was not a forgone conclusion the defendants would be deported following their convictions.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 23-Apr-26 19:29:51

Unfortunately I am no longer surprised by stories like this, which in itself is worrying.

Primrose53 Thu 23-Apr-26 20:00:45

It’s disgusting that they were welcomed into our country and this is how they conduct themselves. That poor woman!

You can bet they won’t get deported, although they should. Remember when that plane was on the runway with convicted criminals on board and loonies stopped the plane from taking off.

TheSunRisesInTheEast Thu 23-Apr-26 20:05:11

Yes, they are absolutely vile and if deported, who's to say they won't be raping women in their own country? Capital punishment should be carried out when guilt is proved beyond doubt. It has become apparent that so many of these men coming here on boats are criminals, we don't want them here, this country has enough of our own criminals to deal with.

Cossy Thu 23-Apr-26 20:08:32

Absolutely dreadful, they need to be deported immediately and people warned that they are very dangerous to women.

I don’t think they committed this shocking and horrific crime because they are migrants, I think they’re shockingly evil men first and foremost.

I do hope their victim manages to make a full recovery and gets plenty of support and therapy.

That would be an utterly sickening outcome. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.

Yes. Deportation is not a sentence.

Maremia Thu 23-Apr-26 21:39:01

People found guilty of a crime here should serve their time here.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 23-Apr-26 21:49:12

Absolutely!

When released transferred directly to the nearest airport and returned to their country of origin

barmcake Fri 24-Apr-26 04:32:31

We've got enough rapists and murderers of our own, we don't need to import any more. One of them said 'rape is sex'. Nationalities who are known to have this attitude towards woman should be completely banned.

After the rape they went back to their tax payer funded hotel and had a party.

MartavTaurus Fri 24-Apr-26 05:43:40

So where's the posters who unconcernedly say that this is proportionate in numbers to our own UK rapists? That it corresponds in size?

It's happening all over Europe - France, Germany etc too. You only have to open foreign newspapers to read about it.

It's too many, too often, and too little is being done to sort it.

Kandinsky Fri 24-Apr-26 07:27:00

Funny how threads about these dreadful incidents involving asylum seekers never get that many replies…..the silence is deafening.

Sarnia Fri 24-Apr-26 07:38:25

What is being done to stop them? According to yesterday's press we have now paid the French a total of £1b to stop the boats. That's been money well spent, hasn't it?

Magenta8 Fri 24-Apr-26 07:39:35

I wouldn't describe 15 replies since 18.48 yesterday as ^deafening silence^*Kandinsky*.

Of course it is a disgusting crime and of course the men should be deported ASAP. Arguably, they should never have been allowed in in the first place.

It must have been a terrifying ordeal for the women and I hope she receives proper support.

I really don't know what else there is to say and I am afraid that all I have written is really just re-stating the obvious.

I think a new deal was struck this week with an additional £660million for France to provide 50 police officers trained in riot and crowd control tactics to stop the boats. As if that will really help.

I am rather sceptical of this and previous deals

France along with other European countries have an influx of migrants/asylum seekers, I imagine they are more than happy when these folks leave their country to seek asylum elsewhere.

After all it saves them money and probably gains them X’s in the polling booths…

barmcake Fri 24-Apr-26 08:24:41

The reason we're in this situation is because of the silence. People who speak out are called far right racists and worse. I'm sure the enlightened will be posting soon: not all asylum seekers are bad, escaping persecution etc. Time to stop all the single young men flooding in and take in families.

I read the actual details of this rape and was sad, angry, disgusted and shed a few tears for this poor women. When will we put our own women and children first.

Casdon Fri 24-Apr-26 08:28:31

The way I read this was that the men would be deported after sentencing, to serve out their prison term in their own countries. That seems the best possible outcome for such a horrible crime, and should prevent them being a risk for a number of years.

M0nica Fri 24-Apr-26 08:32:51

If convicted of serious crimes - like this, I think they should be taken direct to the airport and put on the next plane back to their country of origin, regardless of conditions there. It might be the best deterrent out.

Let me be clear, I would not do that to anyone accused of a crime that did not physically harm or threaten someone in a serious way. But rapists, murderers, trafficking, back they would go.

Quite. I thought Sarah Everard's murder was a turning point in making the streets safer for women. I don't see any signs of it, if anything it appears to be getting worse.
There is a migrant hotel close to where I live. We have had instances of men from here walking around naked and high on drugs and sadly, even more cases of young girls being approached, sexually assaulted and raped by some of their number. Their court cases were heard in the next county in the hopes they could keep it under the radar. The UK is in a sorry state.

I don't think we are in the situation because of silence. I've yet to encounter anybody who things unrestricted migration is a good thing.
