I am a Londoner, I remember a bomb outside the Israeli Embassy injuring many, then further car bombs outside Jewish organisations in Finchley and Brent Cross, then random attacks on individual Jewish places and Jewish people.
I think it was the 90s when antisemitism reached an all time high, it was palpably felt by many. Reform certainly wasn't around for another 20 years after that.

Sickening antisemitic attack.
(163 Posts)Voluntary Jewish ambulances, run by a Jewish charity, have been set alight in a car park in Golders Green North London.
How much more hate can be thrown at one group of people in our country?

Honestly …I think it was just some Ned who thought why should anyone have private ambulances when my mum or gran or child has to wait hours for one.
Probably didn,t even know they were for the Jewish community.
The hatred is for people who have things the rest of the community don’t have access to .Its been posh cars in our area ,set on fire almost daily
I don't think you understand how Jewish private ambulances work in London, Paddyann54. They are identifiable by their signage, so of course everyone knows they were for the Jewish community. They were also parked at the Jewish synagogue in Golders Green.
Near a synagogue? There will be good CCTV coverage.
Quote MartavTaurus thank you

paddyann54 why do you always attempt to dismiss obvious antisemitism? Any account of the incident mentions they were parked next to the synagogue and are clearly marked. Surely you read about it before making your 'insightful' post?
I hadn't refreshed the page and you'd already made the point MartavTaurus
No prizes for guessing why
I have a few ideas?
Before there is a pile on, nobody but nobody should be attacked or hurt in any way.
Absolutely disgusting and vile.
I send my best wishes to the entire Jewish Community.
I truly hope they find the perpetrators of this vile and cowardly crime and I believe them to be disgusting excuses for human beings.
Let’s not blame other groups, we have no evidence as yet.
Disgusting far right people have sadly been around for decades in our country, it’s just that parties like Reform give them credence and a voice.
I’ll be honest I’m pretty sick of the racial prejudice both online and in real life, directed at any cohort or communities living in the UK.
We don’t “own” this country, no one does!

Antisemitism and other prejudices are not exclusive to the far right, the far left and even the 'middle' can be just as bad.

It’s been going on for quite a while.
Thank you for your post which reminds everyone 👍🏻

They were masked.
This is the second thing inside seven days that has deeply shocked me. The first was the amended abortion bill which seems almost certainly to become law. The new Archbishop of Canterbury apparently believes it to be 'a complicated matter'. No Archbishop, it's the legal murder of another human being who cannot defend itself by the very person who should be protecting it. Adoption is surely a better option?
The attack on these ambulances is truly appalling and sickening, thank goodness no one was hurt. Frankly Paddyanne, your outrageous comment is not worth replying to as you have made clear, not for the first time, that you have little or no sympathy with the Jewish population, however much they are clearly persecuted.
My maternal grandparents will be turning in their graves! They came here to escape the Nazis and were so grateful to this country. How things have changed!
Reform has never struck me as antisemitic.
At the moment no-one knows who was responsible although there is footage of three people approaching the ambulances before they burst into flames.

The rise of Reform? He may be disguising it now, but Farage was definitely antisemitic in his youth.
I don't think so (although I could be wrong). I have no doubt Farage is antisemitic, but on this occasion a pro-Iranian terrorist group has claimed responsibility. They have also claimed responsibility for a number of incidents targetting Jews on mainland Europe in recent weeks.
It’s reported by the BBC that an Islamic, pro -Iranian group have claimed responsibility online for the attack.

Perhaps a different thread for your very contentious abortion views, as it’s a very large and difficult debate.
Sorry twaddle for repeating your post.

Muslims are the current scapegoats, which is why you'll sometimes see Israeli flags flying at right wing marches. They have a common enemy. Nevertheless, antisemitism is a form of bigotry and some Reform supporters most definitely strike me as bigots.

Astonishing!

Oh dear, that’s truly awful.
Another extremist organisation which will tar all with the same brush.
Whatever is going on between govts, in other countries, there is no excuse to target any group in this country.
I hold Trump and Netanyahu personally responsible for the actions that they are taking!
Not their citizens!

Okay, so what did you mean by 'no prizes for guessing why', then?
I assumed you were directing the blame at the far right, who have always been notoriously antisemitic, but if not, who are you blaming whilst not blaming anyone?
