Now again it needs verification but it is being suggested that Trump's truce announcement may have been preceeded by some insider trading.
As if someone was 'in the know' and chose to cash in on the information.

I wouldn’t be remotely surprised - price of oil. Trumps friends are making a killing - I bet.

Those ships willing to pay for safe passage through the Straits, which currency will they use?
The mighty dollar or the Chinese yuan?
Rumour suggests the later.
Has Trump given hostile nations an opportunity to attack the dollar?

Both the US and Iran want the war to end but on their terms.
Trump says there is a deal. Iran deny this.
Talks will be taking place in Islamabad. Representatives from.the US are on their way.
Trump has said if after 5 days there is no deal they will carry on 'bombing their little hearts out'.

Trump has let the genie out of the bottle and can't easily put it back. Iran is now fully aware of how much power they hold over world economics, so much more than they had in the 80's. They have the means of possibly getting sanctions removed from them and their capacity to become a nuclear power is really no different than when they signed the deal with Obama et al in 2015, which Trump ripped up! Regime change is now clearly off the table.
Lebanon, which is a very ethnically diverse population now has a million people displaced by Israeli actions and Netanyahu shows no sign of wanting to stop. Are we looking at another Gaza? It is a bloody mess, literally with 1,000s of completely innocent people killed, injured and homeless. To top it off, people in countries that have nothing to do with this war are badly affected. Thank you Mr Trump, now get the world out of this mess you have dragged us into!!

I imagine Iran will not admit to engaging in talks, they don’t want to look as if they are kowtowing to the US. There will be a lot of hyperbole on every side but somewhere on the middle ground we can only hope somebody is taking sensibly to all players.

Obvs the person taking sensibly will not be Trump.

Trump effectively cut 34billion from overseas aid and to date the US has spent about 60 billion on the war in Iran and has approximately 200 billion's worth of damage to it's military bases in the ME. Goodness knows how much the damage in ME countries will cost to repair. What a senseless way to spend and waste money!

Why would Iran saying they're engaged in talks look as if they're kowtowing to the US Fallingstar? They were engaged in talks when first attacked.

Trump's given out so much 'fake news' since he became POTUS, he probably can't distinguish between truth and fiction.

It's always about the economy because it's the economy that allows for the creation or destruction of jobs and public services.

Which is why I think we all need to understand better how a national economy works so we can look at the implications of politician's promises. See if they are fact or fantasy based...

For all the same reasons Nigel Farage has been topping the polls here in the U.K.

There are pockets of the electorate in both countries where people are dissatisfied with other parties/politicians.

When you have little or no prospects, you see the majority of goods including food which you struggle to buy being produced overseas

You hear/see immigrants allegedly getting access to housing, medical/dental treatment and endless benefits.

We are not walking in their shoes…

Well today we can be sure of a couple of things

Trump lies - and lies in a massive way.

Trump cannot open Hormuz with violence.

So on Saturday Trump threatened Iran with the destruction of much of their civilian infrastructure.

On Sunday Iran responded with a shrug saying that if that happened they would destroy all the de- salination buildings in the ME.

On Monday Trump appears to have TACO’d and in the process enriched many through insider dealing.

Today we are told thousands of US marines are heading towards the ME.

Wonder what tomorrow will bring?

We are not walking in their shoes…

We may not all be walking in their shoes but it's easy enough to understand what difficulties many people are facing. Low wages when inflation is barely falling while interest rates stay higher than they should be, shortage of jobs apart from low paid 'gig' jobs.

Many of us would not turn to Reform for solutions, but even those of us who are comfortably off are suffering from crumbling public services, crumbling infrastructure (especially those potholes which make driving into a sort of slalom course to avoid them) and rising prices.

As I have just said, it needs an understanding of how a national economy works to be able to judge whether Reform could make meaningful changes in people's lives. As it happens, they are not exactly doing this in the local councils they have taken control of, which is, to me, an indication that they wouldn't be much good handling a national economy...
