Good Morning Friday 28th August 2026

Good morning from Bristol; it’s still dark and very overcast. Yesterday’s promised rain consisted of two rumbles of thunder and about 20 of rain. That was it! It was very sticky and airless.
A quiet day yesterday, sorting our correspondence, and sewing. As I’m the first flat on the estate and on the street rather than having a pavement or lawn in front, I see all the comings and goings and everyone parks under my window. Yesterday, I had two delivery vans, an ambulance (all ok), a scaffolding lorry and several cars.
Today, baking for tomorrow’s coffee and chat; making notices to say that there will be no live concert on Wednesday’s FAB cafe. That was sprung on us and we shall be full of disgruntled customers. I hate being blamed for something that isn’t my fault.
It’s a “blood” full moon tonight.
I hope MD’s mouth I has improved and that all you guys in sick bay are feeling better.

Good morning, Mick and everyone to come from a dark and peaceful Torbay.

Awake since silly o’clock for no particular reason.

I am going out for lunch with a friend from the theatre company whilst my cleaner is here. Last week I was back before she had finished. I think she is a faffer but at least she hasn’t broken anything lately!

Good morning from a still dark NE where we have had overnight drizzle.
Been awake since 3.20 am, every day this week I have woken at ridiculous times.
Today I am going out for lunch with my friend, it is her birthday on Monday so we will have a little celebration.
Thoughts are with poorly people.

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

Yesterday was a quiet, still day weather wise, the East coast haar didn’t really lift all day, the top of Arthur’s Seat was shrouded in mist. When I collected the youngest from nursery they said he’d had his best day ever, he played in the outdoor mud kitchen for hours and as a consequence I was handed a bag of very, wet muddy clothes to take home.

I’m disappointed to see rain this morning as it’s our town’s annual hot air balloon festival this weekend beginning with the first flights this evening, weather permitting.

I’ve a dentist appointment this afternoon as I’ve had a swollen gum, it’s much better now after a few days of salt water rinses but it needs to be checked.
