Rennee Good's family lawyers have now released the results of an independent autopsy, showing three gunshot wounds. She was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said at the time the agent opened fire after Good tried to ram officers with her vehicle.

The DHS has not yet published the outcome of its investigation. We await details of what legal action Good's family lawyers may take against DHS. This thread has been started as the previous thread comes towards its 1000 post end to discuss the aftermath, impact and repercussions.

I am going to make this as clear as possible.

Under other Presidents, federal agents did not break into homes without a Judicial warrant. They did not break car windows and drag people out. They did not kill citizens. Those are all illegal and unconstitutional. There was nothing to protest.

You can both sides all you want, but I won't.

Alex was trying to protect a woman that ICE was assaulting with mace. They shoved him down and murdered him.
Trump and Bogino’ s version is a travesty. What so far has been written about Alex is that he was a truly decent person as opposed to Trump .

I think US citizens didn’t mind all the deportations when they happened nearer to the border with Mexico, it’s only when ICE went into the interior of the US and it happened in their own neighbourhoods that made them protest.
Obama deported 3 million.
ICE has increased its numbers and its funding to find evermore illegal migrants who have settled into towns and cities.
I’m not sure how they can go about detaining them without any show of force at all.
They can ask nicely of course, but if the migrants start screaming and yelling then a group of protesters intervenes and that’s when real violence can occur.
It’s not my country, so I guess you and others have to decide what you want immigration forces to do, only stick to the border area or target every town and city to detain them.
If local police actually policed any protests that would also help.

I have not talked to a US Citizen that opposed deportation.

What we oppose are peoples rights being violated by the Federal Government. That is why we are protesting.

Hope that clears up any confusion for you.

Oreo, you are trying to distract that someone was murdered today . You persist in using tge term “ illegal “ to describe people who just want a life with a future which every human being deserves. Most of the people being deported have no criminal record . ICE is not targeting the baddies. They have quotas to meet and I am sure are financially rewarded to do so.

We are now in a conversation about Alex Perti who was murdered today protecting a woman who was being maced by ICE. I think many here are very upset today at what transpired In Minneapolis. Let’s respect that conversation.

Someone who recognises the ICE Gestapo for what it is and taking action.

“What did we learn from the Holocaust? We have to act and we have to resist,” said Rabbi Diane Tracht, sharing her reason for going to Minneapolis. “If I’m not going to act and resist now, then I shouldn’t call myself a rabbi and I can’t be a proud Jew.”

Why is another view distraction? It’s on the same subject.
It’s considered illegal to enter another country secretly when you haven’t been given leave to stay and you live under the radar.
We complain here in the UK about boatloads of people crossing and want them to be properly assessed and if refused asylum then to be deported.
I’m not in any way confused and understand the reaction to any shooting from ICE.In this case it looks as if the man was armed so a different scenario to Renee Good.
If protesters to ICE mix it with them or interfere then violence will follow just as it does in the US if protesters decide to mix it with police.
The better way for citizens to protest is to lobby their own local politicians.

Acting and resisting could lead to injury or death, this Rabbi isn’t thinking it through.
If she just means joining a protest on the sidelines that’s fair enough, but I still think that both lobbying local politicians and maybe a large march with placards through towns is the way to go.
And voting Democrat next time around.

I know there is a valid point about looking at both sides of an argument,
but to keep excusing Trump's criminal behaviour,
what is the point of that?

Whitewavemark2 Sat 24-Jan-26 22:06:28

Do the American posters know about the equipment ICE have purchase to see phone content.

Is that possible and legal?

imaround Sat 24-Jan-26 22:14:04

I haven't heard about that yet. But i know that they are using Flock cameras to track people, even across state lines.

Nothing they are doing is legal.

Wow, another way they are going around the constitution. Using our own tax dollars to purchase our information.

Yes I saw that.

Did I read that Trump is thinking of taking control of them?

I have to look more at the recent SC rulings on his control of the National Guard.

He can try, but we will soon get to the point where soldiers are going to have to choose who to follow. I can't imagine anything good coming out of that.

State sponsored terrorism.

"In a letter to Gov. Tim Walz (D) Saturday, Bondi blamed state and local leaders for the unrest ignited by the Trump administration’s expansive immigration enforcement operations. She claimed that Walz could “restore the rule of law” by complying with a list of demands, including giving the Department of Justice (DOJ) the state’s voter registration records."

This is the account of a Physician that lives near the scene and did CPR on the victim. It is graphic.
