Rennee Good's family lawyers have now released the results of an independent autopsy, showing three gunshot wounds. She was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said at the time the agent opened fire after Good tried to ram officers with her vehicle.

The DHS has not yet published the outcome of its investigation. We await details of what legal action Good's family lawyers may take against DHS. This thread has been started as the previous thread comes towards its 1000 post end to discuss the aftermath, impact and repercussions.

Looks like there was a woman in a red jacket who witnessed/videoed the shooting and is believed to be taken into custody by ICE.

This has not been confirmed, but I want to put this here in case it comes back up later.

State sponsored terrorism.

My goodness. This man who was shot wasn't observing. He was armed. He refused to back down. Stop looking at media that confirms your biased opinions.

Obama and Biden deported hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants using ICE. Man in charge of ICE was given an award by Obama for removing illegal aliens. This same chap is in charge now. Obama had the children in cages. Look on YouTube at Obama proudly announcing the success of ICE.

Why no protests then? Just try and enhance your knowledge.

TDS is alive and kicking. And rather embarrassing.

And no, Trump is not my type of politician, Id never vote for him
But this anti Trump hysteria is, quite simply, pathetic.

You have evidence that he was illegally carrying the weapon? Did you consider that he may been doing so legally, as the ill-trained nutjobs recruited by ICE often encourage, shouting about the 2nd Amendment?

I can’t take anyone serious who goes on about TDS.

"My goodness. This man who was shot wasn't observing. He was armed. He refused to back down. Stop looking at media that confirms your biased opinions".

The fatally shot man was not an illegal immigrant. American citizens have constitutional legal rights to protest Reka. They also have a right to carry arms if they have a permit as imaround has indicated in her posted link. The ICE agents in the moment could not possibly know whether the man has a permit or not. What do you mean "he refused to stand down"- refused to stand down from what specifically?

The DHS released a statement after the fatal shooting of Renee Good that a law enforcement officer (LEO) "may use deadly force when the LEO has a reasonable belief that the subject of such force poses an imminent threat of death or serious bodily injury to the LEO for to another person".

We're all looking at the same video evidence - in what way Reko would you say the man was posing an imminent threat of death or serious bodily injury to a LEO so we can understand your opinion? I couldn't see in any video evidence that the man was holding a firearm and appeared to be effectively restrained i.e. securely held down by the ICE officers before the shots were fired?

The dead man has been identified as

“Alex Pretti, the man killed by federal agents today in Minneapolis, appears to have been a registered nurse, an athlete, a son and a brother, with ties to Colorado and Wisconsin”.

Personally, I find the pro-Trump condoning to be much, much worse than pathetic,

Maremia Sat 24-Jan-26 19:41:08

Thanks WhiteWave, another tragic name to be remembered.

Thinking of his loved ones.
RIP Alex Pretti

Trump is clearly targeting Democrat cities, but it hardly needs me to write this, does it?

RIP Alex and his friends, family:

and this city under siege, the mayor asking Trump for ICE to withdraw and leave them to carry on their lives peacefully.

imaround Sat 24-Jan-26 19:47:34

He was a nurse at the VA hospital

imaround Sat 24-Jan-26 19:49:50

I just saw the video from the woman on the pink (not red) coat. The ICE agent pushed him down and then they jumped on his.

LemonJam Sat 24-Jan-26 19:50:40

RIP Alex Pretti- condolences to his family and his loved ones.

imaround Sat 24-Jan-26 19:54:17

Sorry, hit enter too soon.

They pushed him down and jumped on him. But she's headed this way

Barricades - Looks like a modern scene from Le Miserable.

LemonJam Sat 24-Jan-26 19:57:16

Plus one of imaround links reported Alex was a “lawful gun owner” with a permit. Records show that Pretti attended the University of Minnesota. State records show Pretti was issued a nursing license in 2021, and it remains active through March 2026.

To renew your licence to practise as a nurse you need to demonstrate your nursing practice and knowledge is up to date and safe plus you are of good character, ie no criminal activity.

Ok, I give up. I have no idea what is going on with my phone. I am not having a stroke just in case you were worried. grin

imaround Sat 24-Jan-26 20:01:14

A still shot of the first ICE officer confronting him. You can easily see a phone in his hand.

What do posters think of the fact that ICE was operating this way under Obama and Biden to remove hundreds and thousands of illegal migrants? And the fact that Obama gave an award to the man in charge of ICE.
Not everything is Trump related only.
It would be raging hypocrisy to condone what went before and yell about it only now.
My own take on it is that things are done very differently in the US to how they are here and we just have to let them get on with it.Not that we can do anything productive anyway to change things.
Police are armed and immigration are armed there and both genuine attacks on them and mistakes too will happen.

As Walz said “Thank God for videos “

The spin being put on by Trump and supporters is breathtaking

Whitewavemark2 Sat 24-Jan-26 20:17:08

I am in awe of the way the Minnesotan’s are acting together to help each other. From “watching” on the streets to providing hot drinks and opening their homes to let people come in to warm up and rest.

imaround Sat 24-Jan-26 20:20:54

ICE didn't target and kill the people protesting the Unconstitutional tactics of federal agents during Obama and Biden. Those 2 presidents were able to deport many more immigrants with far less violence.

So yes, this is a Trump issue.

Syracute Sat 24-Jan-26 20:29:44

I have watched a few different videos.
It was clearly murder.
I did not see that Alex pulled out his gun at any moment.
I think I saw an agent pull out the gun from his waist band.
The agent had jeans on.
Trump is disgusting and we all need to to bear witness wherever we are.

imaround Sat 24-Jan-26 20:30:59

I should clarify, under Obama and Biden, there was no need to protest because ICE was adhering to Constitutional laws.

The Trump team is the ones who decided to violate the Constitutional rights of every person in the United States.

Oreo Sat 24-Jan-26 20:34:01

Far less violence? So there was some?
Hard to believe there was none. There wouldn’t be any of course if there weren’t protests or the protesters didn’t engage with ICE.
Why would US citizens not want illegal migrants to be detained.

So Alex had a gun on his person?
