It's not the first time the Queen has had to shake the hand of a murderous thug. I wonder what goes through her mind?

Am I alone in finding Martin McGuinness strangely attractive? ONLY PHYSICALLY!!!!! I know he is/was evil.

I'm sure she could've refused to shake his hand, jings. To meet with him would be bad enough, but to shake the hand of the person who arranged the murder of so many of her subjects (and her close relative, Mountbatten), must go against the grain, rather?

I just don't know how she will be able to smile. But I suppose it's in the line of duty.

Interesting comment from Gerry Adams that the meeting would be good for Ireland. There's already been a meeting in Dublin that was good for Ireland and Sinn Fein snubbed it. This meeting is surely meant to be good for Northern Ireland.

I don"t find Martin McGuinniss remotely atrachive , in fact he is rather ugly !!

During her long reign, HM must have met many terrorists/freedom fighters turned into presidents or prime ministers - maybe Archbishop Makarios, maybe Jomo Kenyatta? I can't be sure. Whatever the situation, she will no doubt face it with her usual aplomb.
