'The Queen will present Diamond Jubilee Awards for those who have made a special contribution to national culture. She will tour the Galleries where she will meet artists, musicians, and the Awards’ benefactors before departing the Royal Academy.'
Is HMQ also meeting 'ordinary' subjects as part of her Jubilee to the same extent she is meeting celebrities / other royal people? If not why not and do you think she should or not???

It's all decided for her. It's not her fault!

Whoever it is, they will all wear that silly simper that people affect when they meet royalty. Her Madge must be so fed up with it, no wonder she likes her dogs and her horses best!

She does a fair amount of meeting "the people" and lots, if not all, the guests at her garden parties are "the people". No doubt there will be a picture in the papers of her having a cup of tea and a biscuit in someone's "front parlour". smile

By the way, did anyone else notice on today's news how hopeless some of those curtseys were? Posh frocks but inelegant bodies and fumbly feet. smile

My post was not personal to HMQ. I am no great fan and she is who she is! gracemum every job has its downside & hers seems to have fewer than most...except she is still working well into her 80s though by choice I guess!

I was really thinking that all the Jubilee junkets in the press seem to be platforms for rich/famous/infamous to get some air /column space rather than reflecting the whole range of her subjects! I have not seen any coverage of a jubilee gathering for charity workers / public servants (not politicos)/young entrepreneurs etc!
