Just returned from a 2 day bteak. To my horror I think I have bedbug bites.
Has anyone else had this . I also have some on one arm. I am really mortified. Any help please is welcome.

I once got flea bites all over my back and bum after sitting in an infested chair in the waiting area of a hair salon. I just had a hot shower and hair wash and hot washed the clothes I was wearing. It seemed to do the trick.

From what I remember, the bites looked similar to OP's.

Always use the suitcase stand, rather than putting your bag on the bed
When you get up in the morning, check the base sheet for tiny pin pricks of blood. You think the bites are the worst that can happen? No. Transferring them into your home is far worse, and ridiculously expensive, replacing mattresses, bedframes (they can get into the joins), getting pest control in etc

Op might have just been bitten with mosquitos

^I would die if I ever brought those things home with me^

Well, no, you wouldn’t.

hmm

You would just have to deal with it, like the OP has to.

Not nice though.

Oh I would, I’d be stressed to hell if I had them in my house.

Never had them but there is always a chance in the future. Just deal with them. Hot wash and never put bags etc on the bed.

Bit over dramatic there MT62 I don’t think anyone dies of bedbugs 🤣🤣🤣
Stayed in all sorts of weird and wonderful places but never thought about bed bugs and never had them
Mind you I rarely get bitten. Mosquitoes give me a wide berth I think some peoples blood is more tasty than others I m lucky in that respect

I think BB you would be dramatic if you brought them things home with you.
New York, London & Paris recently have had infestations.
They are blinking hard to get rid of.
I don’t think it’s being over dramatic checking the mattress really.

I was worried about picking something up on the plane has it was ruddy filthy.

I had a friend who owned a five star hotel in Chester. I asked had he ever had bed bugs, he replied that they had once or twice. He said they had to seal everything, take it outside & burn everything.
At the end of the day bedbugs don’t know if it’s a one star, or five star 🤣

Could be mozzy bites. Once seen a fella bit like that in Greece. He was covered from head to toe, I mean even the tips of his toes were bitten.

Ive it once in 50 odd years, I did have a near miss once, I saw 2 women around the swimming pool covered from head to toe in bites. I had brought a can of fly spray because I expected insect problems so sprayed my matress throughly 2 hours before bed time - no bites
Several other times on that trip I needed to clear the room of insects

What kind of insects David?

Bed bugs are more likely to bite in a straight line.

I’ve heard that rows of three & usually around waist band, I suppose if you are wearing bottoms.

I think a visit to a GP / pharmacy is the first thing to do. They may not be bed bugs!! If they are you will be given sound advice. Whatever the outcome it will be ok . Good luck - keep us updated.

Oh dear sad my friend brought them home once. She had to call out a professional for advice and help as they'll be on your belongings too

I always check the mattress & keep my suitcase off the bed.
Surprising how many people unpack their case on top of the bed.
I would die if I ever brought those things home with me.

Yes I heard that advice somewhere but always forget it.
Luckily I have never experienced any problems and have stayed in many hotels and B&B’s over the years, so think you’ve been very unlucky OP. They do look nasty, hope you get something to relieve the itching.

Disregard my post I am wrong I ve just googled a pic and they are like what you are showing I should have done that before I posted sorry

BlueBelle Sat 30-May-26 05:38:50

I may be completely wrong but I thought bed bugs were smaller bites than that and closer together Call at a pharmacist and ask them to have a look they can also give you the right cream / advice

I caught similar when I lay on an airport bench, waiting to catch the National Express Coach to Wales.
When I saw the Doctor the next morning , he said it was more like Scabies . Yes, it was from the airport bench. Treatment with Lotion rubbed from top to Toe ,. Forgot the name. The clothes I wore, I’m sure I threw away. I was told these miles don’t last long in high temp.
Be careful in public places , and carry a disposable toilet seat cover.

Oh heck sat in bed scratching now 🥴

MT62 Sat 30-May-26 00:08:58

Put everything on a hot wash & hot dryer, or bag up & put in the freezer.
Handheld steamers are good for cleaning around inside your suitcase.
Hopefully you haven’t brought any home.

My husband and I got bitten by bed bugs in avery high end hotel in Vienna. I have never experienced such intence itchiness. Luckily we didn't bring them home with us. Bought a caravan after that, will never stay in a hotel again.
