Who is the liar Farage?

Yesterday, MI5 confirmed the Prime Ministers statement that there was Russian interference in the Brexit referendum.

I assume that Farage will make public his apology, although I doubt it, he is such a little man with low moral values.

This thread is about a leader of a political party standing up in the media and telling the world that the British prime minister is a liar.

There isn’t another thread about this important subject, where someone with relatively close links to Russia either directly or other agents stood up and called the prime minister a liar for saying that Russia interfered in the Brexit referendum and other issues.

LemonJam Wed 14-Oct-26 08:17:07

I doubt very much a Farage will make an apology. His usual style is to cause harm then move on without a second thought or acknowledgement of his own lies.

Why would this occasion be any different. Thats apart from the fact he is unlikely to acknowledge any Russian interference in anything.

Wyllow3 Wed 14-Oct-26 08:23:09

It matters a very great deal.

Why?

As well as other matters, there are investigations going on that Russia was involved in the leave campaign for Brexit, and Farage was one if not the one of the key players.

Just what are Farage's connections to Russia or just as bad, Russian money

Might be boring to you, but given world events including Putin, it’s pretty crucial we’re all extremely aware of any Russian interference.

How could the Russians interfere?
The people voted! Not much in it if we stayed, or if we left.

That question should be put to MI5. They have sufficient evidence to express alarm at the level of interference, seeing Russia as our most dangerous enemy.

LemonJam Wed 14-Oct-26 08:51:21

It’s also the nature of Farage’s behaviour that is concerning. That is his attack style/ calling AB out for telling the truth as a liar. His attempt to create fade truth.

It so echos Trump’s style and not what the UK needs. Farage is not trustworthy himself. To call out truth in relation to Russian interference specifically raises questions about Farage’s motivations.

Fade = false

Farage will not apologise nor even acknowledge this.

He will continue to deflect and probably outrightly lie until he’s either “removed” from office, or more likely simply quietly move abroad.

Farage and his “crew” have done untold damage for a decade to our country, causing huge divisions, if not encouraging then, at the very least, “inspiring” mobs like Patriot Platform and The Pink Ladies, both led by convicted violent criminals.

Between them all they have brought out the very of worst in people and taken our country back to the worst of times.

Our forefathers fought and gave their lives, alongside people from many nations, many faiths, many colours, for freedom for us all, not just the chosen few.

These people have the utter cheek to call themselves patriots!

If they want to see real “patriots” they would do well to examine our past and recent history;

Edith Cavell, for example, or maybe Grace Darling, or more recently Sally Becker. Alan Turing and the many unsung heroes from Bletchley Park.

I could list countless people who have quietly done their very very best to save lives of countless people.

These so called “patriots” of today, in both the UK and the USA make my very blood run cold and utterly sicken me!

Morning rant over!!!!

I await the happy day when his supporters tell us why they like him.

Ditto Trump.

But Farage is Trump's good pal - so he MUST be a person of sound moral integrity. After all, being endorsed by an American President must count for something........

Ha! Ha! Haaaaaaaaa!

Exactly what’s happening here and in the US, by people being paid huge sums to publish on X.

Never ever underestimate the power of social media.

It may not affect our particular generation, however “influencing” is a career for many, “influencers” now mainly known as “content or digital creators”, are out there in their droves.

Sites like Tik-Tok and prior to this U-Tube, are absolutely full of these folk.

It’s almost brainwashing and it’s certainly subliminal and repetitive. Seen enough, as I’m sure you all know, your brain can be “trained” to believe something is the correct thing to do.

You’ve only got to consider the Tate brothers, they maybe safety tucked away currently, but they’ve got their “followers” carrying on in their footsteps.

Just to remind people of the part that Arron Banks played in financing UKIP leading up to the referendum. Millions of pounds put into social media and other media to promote leave will, IMO, have some effect in influencing voters or that money would be spent in another way. Just look at the US and you can see how money buys votes!

"Arron Banks stated that the money he used to fund the 2016 Leave.EU Brexit campaign came from his UK-registered insurance and financial services businesses, specifically through a company named Rock Services.
However, the origin of the funds faced major official scrutiny and legal investigations:
• Electoral Commission & National Crime Agency (NCA) Investigation: In 2018, the Electoral Commission raised suspicions that Banks and his companies were not the true source of an £8 million loan given to the campaign (£6 million reported via Banks and £2 million via a company called Better for the Country).
• Offshore Allegations: Investigators probed whether the money actually originated from an Isle of Man parent company (Rock Holdings) or other offshore and foreign structures, which would violate UK laws banning impermissible or foreign political donations.
• Russian Funding Rumors: Critics and parliamentary inquiries examined Banks's meetings with Russian officials prior to the referendum, though Banks repeatedly denied any involvement of Russian money or foreign interference."

Maremia Wed 14-Oct-26 09:39:01

Why would Farage be upset about this investigation, if he wants the best for his voters?

I think that Russian interference in our democratic process is worth another thread.

I was musing the other day on the media destruction of Corbyn. I’m sure that association of him with some sort of allegiance to Russia was part of it (even though it was historically utterly ludicrous). Yet none of the electorate who were influenced by this ‘association’ were/ are in the least bit concerned about the close Russian ties enjoyed by prominent right wing figures. Or possible Russian interference in our politics hmm

"Farage is a surname, believed to be of French Huguenot origin,[1] likely signifying forage. It has also been used as an anglicised form of the Arabic surname Faraj.

Politicians’ sins do have a way of finding them out. I suspect that the day of reckoning is not far off now. For the first time since 2024 they fell behind the Tories in the weekly YouGov poll this week, which is a possibly a reflection of Farage being sussed by more voters.
