Use ANUSOL ointment rather than the cream, I also use Anusol suppositories. I use sudocreme for the itching and wash with acqueous cream. I have also bought hypo allergenic baby wipes instead of loo paper. It is murder but I find Parecetomol helps with the pain.

Speak to the pharmacist for advice. Piles are on our surgery's list of minor illnesses that a pharmacist can deal with. Perhaps suppositories would be helpful alongside ointment.

I've tried pushing lump in but won't stay in. Very tempted to use Witch hazel lotion on it to see if it would help

Yes, I suffered from it a few years ago. I used the ointment given by the Doctor and also at her suggestion, while you’re having a shower try and push it back. And do the squeeze exercise. I always keep a tube of Anusol with me and I dab it on as soon as I feel itchy. I haven’t had an ‘attack’ since then
