Hello all,

Time to put away the tubs and pots that have done so well, however there is a cast iron beastie that is way too heavy to move!

It is currently home to an upright geranium, some fuschia, lobelia, ivy etc, but as it will have to stay put, I was hoping for some ideas for the rest of the year.

We are in North Devon, the "thing" is in a North facing position, and we do get some pretty strong winds.

Thank you.

I love helebores, so beautiful. I have planted my hanging baskets with trailing violas. However my summer pots are looking better than ever with glorious colour.

Winter flowering heathers - the bees will appreciate these. (Some bees are around in winter and/or come out early in spring.).

A small bush with orange and red berries surprised me with its endurance outdoors all weathers. Don't know what it is called.I'd been thinking they are indoor plants evidently not.

If you don't specially want flowers why not euonymous , the silver edged small leaf one is pretty.
