Comfort Food

DH here has a chest infection too, cough, cough, poorly person (no, he really does) so I am again in the spare room. Thank goodness it has a comfy bed -and I can go on GN read if I wake up

Marmite toast every time!

Those plastic containers of porridge that you add hot water to - the honey or golden syrup ones are the best. Strictly for occasional bedtime comfort food

Haven't done this for years but those cans of spaghetti, well heated, with pepper and grated cheese on top. Rubbish but yummy. Italian husband refused to share my enthusiasm though [puzzled]

Piping hot chicken noodle soup - the clear kind - with lots of noodles

Porridge, with syrup if I'm really ill and salt if I'm not too bad. Hot buttered bagels with a smidgeon of Bovril , yum. Still get the longing for Lucozade, until I read the sugar content.

Anything but fish and chips from the chip shop - which is the only food DH offers me when I am too ill to cook! Tomato soup and soft white bread is my comfort food.
