I worry about overuse of anti-bacterial sprays in nurseries etc. It is well known that we often get ill when we start going to a new place - change of school - students going to university etc. After a while we become immune to the germs there. I believe that exposure to germs will ultimately increase our immunity.
Also those of you who wipe the trolley handles, do you also wipe the items you put in there or wipe again after the cashier has scanned them. Washing your hands when you get home won't help if you then unpack all your shopping and put the filthy germ covered cans into your store cupboard! Personally I don't worry about such things. I wash my hands after going to the toilet and I wash fruit and veg before use routinely but I'm sure I'm no where near as hygienic as I could be. I don't seem to get ill too often although in covid times I got through for ages without catching it but then caught it 4 times in a year! The first time was definitely grandchild related but after that - who knows! I was fully vaccinated too!
Now I can't get the covid jab as under current rules I'm too young unless I pay for it and sadly I can't afford to pay. I've always had the flu jab for many years as I used to get it free due to being diabetic and now I'm old enough to get it free too. When I worked in a school we all got a free flu jab but if I told them I was diabeticc the school didn't have to pay for mine.
