Good morning, Michael12 and all!
karmalady - the dressing gown looks amazing and really comfy, very well done!
I have a large jar at home that I drop my spare change into every day, even if it's just one penny. Then, each September - don't know why I chose that month, years ago - I tip it all out, count it and put it in Post Office cash bags, then drop them into my account.
I drop in all the coins from 1p to £2.00 coin and when I counted everything out last night, I had a whopping EXACTLY £73.00; £9.00 of that was in 50ps!! I dropped some back into the jar as they weren't enough to make up the bags, but this morning before work I dragged 6 full bags to the P.O! So now today I'll carry on collecting until next September!
As a reward to myself for being such a good coin collector, during a break at work today I'll shoot to Spar and buy a 1 L carton of Banana Moo Milk!
I've noticed that the pet shop is now selling huge rubber squeaky ducks for £7.50, so I'll buy one for my best boy, Stanley the Rottie, when he comes in next time! Prezzies from me and his human dad, he's got more toys than Toys R Us!
Bye for now!

That made my laugh Grammaretto! ‘Clinic’ could have given us all manner of thoughts!

Good morning from a brightening northwest coast.First day home yesterday after Greek holiday and DD drove home to the south. DS fixed the doorbell on the new front door porch and I’m still getting over the cold he ‘gifted’ me on holiday…
The cat seems over the moon to see me which is always edifying, lying on my lap all night. I must tackle the dratted suitcase and various jobs today, it feels chilly after Greece.
Thoughts to Marzipan and all🌺
FGT2, that is an excellent film; I saw it last week.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Quite nice and bright here.
After yoga I have an implant appointment at a private dentist. i suddenly realised I should write dentist just in case of misunderstandings 😂
Yesterday I had a series of useful visits. Computer man who has saved all DHs work onto some kind of gadget so all his computer laptops, leads and etc can go out along with the battered desk.
Then the removals man who insisted, even with the relatively small amount I am taking, and the short distance of under a mile, that the move will take 2 days!
No beer and pies allowed either. That was the staple diet for Scots removal men back in the day.
Finally a group of Hippies am I allowed to say that came to take some spare kitchen stuff. They have built themselves a small house in a nearby woodland and are moving into it from their tent this week.
I hope everyone has a good day and for those who can't sleep at night I hope you can have a nap today.
Morning from a damp, overcast S Hants, I heard rain about 6:30.
I do hope your feet recover soon Marzipan how frustrating for you.
Safe journey back llfl your pictures have been lovely, thank you.
Nothing on the cards today, yesterday I was wearing new trainers in the house, just to ease them in, I’ll do the same today. Venison and root vegetables for dinner, our eating through the freezer is getting there.
Must check my shopping list before delivery tomorrow.
Have a good day all.

Like dragonfly I have kept the stairlift put in for DH and find it useful for lugging stuff upstairs and for myself if very tired though I do try not to as using stairs is beneficial (though slipping on them isn’t).
Sorry to read that Marydoll and Madeleine are both having such a tough time and hope the day brings some pleasure too. I have a friend coming for coffee and then a visit to a neighbour in a nursing home when she may or may not recognise me and the friend with me - we find it easier with two of us and come home exhausted. Nothing else planned.
BlueSapphire I hope it goes well.
I’ve just been looking at what’s on at the Odeon in the Trafford Centre and fancy this film. It gets good reviews and is only just over an hour and a half in duration - right up my street. Some films are, imo overly long these days!
Anyway there are multiple showings so I think I’ll go along for the 2pm or 3pm one and then have a glass of wine in one of the bars in the Orient before getting the 23 bus home from the terminus outside M&S. Actually I may as well pop into their food hall while I’m there!
Good morning everyone from an overcast day here at DD's in East Northants.
DD hosted a lovely wine evening last night when we enjoyed a selection of Greek wines and a yummy supper.
Just enjoying a mug of tea before setting off to the eye clinic to have my second cataract done; fingers crossed it goes as well as the first one! Then it will be home to rest and recover. I have stocked up with easy-cook meals and have cleaned the house to within an inch of its life!
Wishing all a pleasant day.
Good morning from a damp Leicestershire.
I am pleased it is raining as I spread grass seed on my front lawns yesterday.
Today just a trip to Sainsbury’s and a coffee out.
I organised a stair lift when my DH was in hospital as I thought he would never get up the stairs again.. I am afraid I went for style and reliability.
It only gets used for bringing the washing up and down stairs but we know it’s there if we need it.
Hope your feet feel better soon Marzipan.
Sorry you are still feeling ill Marydoll.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Good morning all and it’s damp out there and we’re due for rain.🤞. We have so many lovely autumn days , but please sent the rain 🙏. Essex is so dry!
Yesterday there was a fatal accident not far from here and all the roads were gridlocked for many hours. It affected everyone travelling. DH’s lovely friend had to stay here a while before he ventured home, which took him ages, DGD couldn’t drive home from work and had to stay at a friends. Our disabled pals who are staying at Premier Inn (builders removing asbestos from the house) , had been taken out for lunch but police stopped them from getting back to the hotel, so had to stay with daughter.
Dd and DGD were trying to get home by bus and eventually arrived 2 hours later.
I’m quite glad I don’t drive anymore.
Dd and DGD coming after school for a little tea party here. She’s had a lovely week full of birthday celebrations and tea at Nanna and Gaga’s is the icing on the cake 🤣. (Literally).
Pedicure this morning and pottering this afternoon.
Madeleine and Marydoll life is a struggle for you both. I send my good wishes and hope things improve for you.💐💐
Take care all 🌻
Good morning from a damp and drizzly Black Country.
Didn't do a lot yesterday, but tried a new cake recipe. Crumbled topped apple cake. MrJ said it was good. I just had a little taste.
Walking group walk today so looks like we will get wet!
Monk I wish MrJ would even get as far as going for a hearing test. Despite me and his daughters asking him too. He says he will (for past 2 years), but never quite gets round to it. I have to repeat myself at least twice, it is getting very wearing now.
Wishing you all the best day possible
Good morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle where we have a lovely sunny day. I have returned from my early walk in the beautiful fresh air, trying to up my pace to really brisk for a time. I'm definitely fitter than this time last year.
Yesterday, I did my small pile of ironing then some admin followed by some pootling about till after lunch when I went out in the garden to plant out some bedding. There was a patch in the front border where I had removed items so a neighbourhood cat thought it would make a handy toilet. It's now full of plants and is intact this morning.
DS1 phoned after dinner and by the time we'd finished there was no way I was going to attend to the washing up. It's still there looking at me and I'm now about to go down and sort it out before the Tesco delivery man comes.
Later, more gardening? There is still planting to be done and bags of bulbs to go in. I bought more naturalising crocuses for the front lawn. They look wonderful in the spring but I don't care for the job of planting the bulbs!
Marydoll and Madeleine you are both two tough ladies really. I hope the day gets better for you as it goes on.
Good morning from, yet again damp, Stockport
Fortunately the last two days have cleared up and have been pleasant.
I had a quiet day yesterday with just my friend and neighbour visiting in the afternoon, she wasn’t quite as boring about her family as she can be but it still in awe about how perfect they all are.
Today is going to be gentle tidying and doing as little as possible, I cooked a piece of gammon yesterday so today and tomorrow’s meals are easy.
I hope the poorlies among you have a better day and everyone takes care.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s been raining heavily but now the sun is coming out. Nice. Temperature today of 17°C a real autumnal feel now in the air.
I have no plans today so will just potter about. I need to go down to the larder at some stage for something for my evening meal. I’m fancying vegetables (hardly any on the menus in Spain yet there’s plenty in the supermarket) so cauliflower and sprouts with definitely feature. Now I’m on my own I tend to cook a decent amount then fry half up the next night - saves messing.
Good morning from a cloudy Suffolk where the green grass and healthy looking trees now are an encouraging sight that there is a recovery from the earlier drought.
I had a long leisurely lunch yesterday of over 3 hours with one of my closest friends when we managed to put the world to rights theoretically. Today is a day with no plans yet but it will probably involve a trip to a nearby town with DH whose watch has stopped working.
He has 2 others but none seem to tell the time accurately. Coffee and cake will no doubt be part of our trip and some time in the garden generally tidying up on our return.
Hope those with worries and/ or ill health have a peaceful day.
Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 5C°, with showers forecast.
Susan, I too had an awful night, 1 dread going to sleep. I had gone to bed early, with earache and a blinding headache, but couldn't sleep.
I hope you feel better as the day goes on.♥️
Gagagran, what a coincidence DH and I were discussing stair lifts yesterday. I can hardly get up and down stairs now, it is so painful.
I hope you manage to get it sorted.
Yesterday did not pan out as I had hoped.
I managed to complete most of the safeguarding admin and even cut DH's hair,--badly--. I have developed a tremor and weakness in my painful wrist. I did suggest to DH, that he should go to a barber, he said he had his own personal one and there was no need! 😉
It doesn't really matter, because he cannot see the back of his head, 😁
Then I started to cough and was violently sick. My chest has flared up again. It was a day of non stop coughing,
I felt very dizzy and spent the afternoon lying down,
Today will be a nothing day, I will be doing as little as possible, in the hope, that I feel better.
This forced incarceration does not sit well with someone (me), who is always out and about.
Hoping that my fellow mountaineers, have a bearable day. Enjoy your day, everyone, what ever your plans.
Good morning from a lovely cool, breezy autumnal-feeling Cornwall where my patio beckons but my feet say don't go out there, not yet. I hope that one more day of not using them much may help the healing. I have to go out to the surgery tomorrow anyway, whether they complain or not. So there, feet! 😃 Thank you for your caring comments yesterday.
I finished making my hippy jeans and am perusing my stash of denim wondering what I can concoct next.
I heard a heartwarming tale yesterday. My ex was in the south of France when someone broke into his motorhome in the night and stole his phone and documents. Scary. At a garage a French stranger lent him £100 equivalent so he could drive to Brittany where we have friends. A true Good Samaritan. 💜
Today I'll either sit or lie in my back room and watch the trees waving around or in my front room and watch the trees waving around. 😄
Morning all from Italy. Just had breakfast and will be heading off for the airport soon. We’ve had a lovely holiday but it will be great to be back home sometime this afternoon.
