I've recently found a new respect for Megan Markel.
What has she done? She married a Prince and discovered the reality of her new married life wasn't as wonderful as it was cracked up to be.
She 'threw her toys from her pram' and persuaded her feckless husband to take her home to America, but found life was no better.
But instead of filing for divorce as many show-biz people do she set about trying to make a living for their growing family in the only way she knew how - by using the media to sell herself. Netflix and such didn't work and neither has her attempt to sell her jams, candles, sprinkles (and so on).
But she's tried, really tried.
What has he done?
Brought her back to Britain .................... Ooooh dear.

She’s certainly a “tryer”

Take that however you like thanks

Smileless2012 Wed 16-Sept-26 12:43:00

It's Meghan with an 'h' and TBF her prince is no more feckless than she is.

MawsRosie Wed 16-Sept-26 12:50:52

Cashing in (or trying to) on her title and royal connections- you forgot to mention those among her achievements.
The self delusion of posturing as a home style guru, cook, a hostess with the mostest and someone who is tone deaf to those around her incapable of reading the room and oblivious to basic good manners too.

That woman has returned to the UK of her own free will.
She seems to me to be the dominant one in their marriage.
Harry is an emotionally damaged young man thanks to the appalling adulterous behaviour of his father and girlfriend which led to the family breakdown.
Miss Markle knows exactly what she's doing. Her status would be zero if they divorced.

eazybee Wed 16-Sept-26 12:59:14

Meghan would have done better to have tried royal life for a longer period before rejecting it so rudely.

Camilla was not at all popular when she first appeared on the royal scene but by work, duty (oh how unfashionable) and not taking offence at the many aspersions cast at her she has been generally accepted by the public and is developing respect and popularity in her own right.

merlotgran Wed 16-Sept-26 13:13:07

Meghan has found out, to her cost, that royal life and celebrity life don’t mix. She always ends up painting herself into a corner.
Maybe a successful celebrity aristocrat like Emma Thynne, the Marchioness of Bath, could give her a few tips!

Calendargirl Wed 16-Sept-26 13:18:40

Harry is an emotionally damaged young man

Slight correction, emotionally damaged middle aged man.

He’s 42, did you not see his wife’s cringe-making video yesterday, keeping it all very ‘private’ of course?

Calendargirl Wed 16-Sept-26 13:21:04

And any wife worth her salt would have been trying to help and support her ‘emotionally damaged’ husband.

Instead she has nurtured it for her own ends, instead of allowing him to move on from the very real tragic events when he was growing up.

Putting my hard hat on …….
I prefer Meghan to ambitious Catharine -(dont call me Kate 😫)

Harris27 Wed 16-Sept-26 14:42:38

Kate for me keeps her head down and does the job. Reminds of the queen ‘ never complain never explain’ she serves the monarchy well.

Smileless2012 Wed 16-Sept-26 14:48:49

Why do you think Catherine's ambitious crazyH?

I agree.
They had roles which they could have fulfilled, taken on the burden from older members of the Royal Family who are still stoically performing duties requested by the public.
They could have earned respect.

I remember the Duke of Kent making a public appearance at a special Parade just two or three years ago. He must have been about 87 or 88 then.

Duty seems to be an alien word to them, which is strange considering Harry's Army background.

Smileless2012

Why do you think Catherine's ambitious crazyH?

I’ll be honest, and I have no really strong feeling for any of the current RF, I do think both W&C are pretty ambitious.

I think Camilla should have married (been allowed) Charles first time around and I felt at the time so sorry for both Diana and Camilla’s husband.

Diana and Charles were not in any way compatible and that whole marriage was a toxic and damaging (imho)

I do think, however, W&C seem pretty much compatible and both appear to have grown very well into their roles.

crazyH Wed 16-Sept-26 15:17:33

Smileless - she and her mother pursued William, changed University, tempted him with that see-through dress at the fashion show - and William took the bait.
Meghan and Harry are constantly being picked on - as fas I know and read, it was Harry who pursued Meghan - she is an independent woman and would have been very successful in her own right.

JenniRen Wed 16-Sept-26 15:19:15

😂😂😂

I'm sure William has a mind of his own.

MarieElla Wed 16-Sept-26 15:25:19

I think Meghan is ambitious but not overly talented in any area, although she keeps trying.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 16-Sept-26 15:31:13

Come on CrazyH! Are you saying that William was so weak that he was tempted by a reasonably good looking woman in a see through dress! They were together for many years and had at least one breakup before marrying. There were surely other things about Catherine (and her family) to persuade him to propose.

As for H&M. I try not to read the c**p about them in the tabloids. Other newspapers are more sensible. Basically, I think the RF are behaving appallingly towards them.

MarieElla Wed 16-Sept-26 15:46:04

It is very embarrassing for H&M being ignored like that by their Royal relatives but then they should not have old embarrassing and potentially damaging stories about them to the world.

How could you know the dynamics of anyone’s marriage without having lived with them?

We can’t even truly know our neighbors at-home dynamics, yet we can make believe like we know people who we see on the tele and read about online? It’s such a personal comment to make about people you don’t know.

Only her husband is in a position to judge the kind of wife she is. It’s his marriage.

Smileless2012 Wed 16-Sept-26 17:33:29

They were together for about 8 years before they got engaged crazyH so it's hardly credible to say she and her mother pursued him.

Smileless2012 Wed 16-Sept-26 17:36:04

Considering how H & M have treated the RF Ladyleftfieldlover I think their restraint is commendable.

🤣🤣🤣
I wonder how people would describe your meeting with your partner, if they thought it worth talking about.

Cadenza123 Wed 16-Sept-26 17:40:37

It seems to be that they have returned to reignite press and public interest in their connections. Their only capital is their link to the Royal family and it's fast waning. Christmas at Sandringham wouldn't go amiss, charades at Balmoral with a few snaps of their children on Grandpa's knee would all help with the brand.

Calendargirl Wed 16-Sept-26 17:56:07

I think Christmas at Sandringham for the Sussexes would mean W&C deciding to spend it with the Middletons.

Difficult call for the King.
