Cheesy Christmas movies on the QVC app on our television. From now until Christmas I will be subjected to this torture every day. It's only the beginning of September. Eek!!

Oh no! DD is addicted to them, so when we call in they will be on and her visits to us will be governed by the schedule.

We are just recovering from the La Volta cycle race (Come to tea on Sunday but not before 4.30)

Could there be an intermittent cable problem for a few months?

They have been on some movie channels since July.
I think they must be made especially for those channels.
From the description they would never make it in a cinema.

Channel 4 or 5 have non stop Christmas films on in the run up to Christmas. I hadn’t realised there were so many ( mainly American). It’s very difficult to extricate oneself from them whilst channel hopping. Mind you, the old black and white ones will always be the best.

I don't watch Christmas films even at Christmas. Many of them are very cheesy.

I love Christmas time but I couldn't have it watered down by really corny films at any time, never mind in September.
Those cheaply made Christmas films, all with the same format - boy meets girl, they clash, throw in a sugary-sweet old person, and a vague crisis, one or the other saves the day, they fall in love, the end.

Ugh. I have tried too many hoping for something different, to no avail so we avoid them in our house.

Can you hide the remote? Failing that, throw a brick at the tv? tchhmm

Maybe accidentally pull the plugs out! Oh no! I couldn’t stand it!

I agree!

Too gloopy for me, and you could write the script yourself for most of them.

Fallingstar Wed 02-Sept-26 16:25:47

One of my DDs loves these films, the plots are paper thin and always against a backdrop of sumptuous Christmas trees and snow. Not my cup of tea I’m afraid, give me a good murder mystery any day.

Marks and Spencer have all their Christmas chocolate in stock this morning. Something to munch on while you endure the Christmas films.
I love Christmas films but only from the middle of November.
