(50 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,

Take Care,

Good morning from a cloudy Suffolk and hopefully a cooler day like yesterday. Yesterday rain was forecast for tonight and tomorrow morning but no sign of it on today’s forecast.
We had quite a shock( short lived) yesterday as we got ready to set off on our dog walk. What appeared to be clouds of smoke began swirling towards us but as we rushed outside to investigate,we could hear a machine in the distance and realised that a field close by was being harrowed and it was dust and not smoke.
The tractor driver was a young lad from the village who was obviously enjoying racing up and down the field as fast as he could creating huge clouds of dust from the solid ground. No wonder our cars have a thick layer of dust on them.
DH’s car is going into a workshop nearby to have some scratches removed caused by an unknown driver’s careless parking recently. I’ll follow to bring him home. The estimate here was less than half of the main dealer where we both have service contracts and from whom we bought the cars.
Hope today is a cool one for all with rain for some who really need it.
Just been out for the paper and got quite damp in the drizzle. 👏👏👏👏👏
Good morning all from a cooler Black country rain likely later we shall see.
Trip to town need to transfer some money and pay a bill will have a look round while there.
RosesandLilac hope you get that cough sorted.
grandMattie enjoy your day.
Have a good day everyone whatever your plans 😀
Good morning Mick and everyone from grey Carlisle. It rained a little yesterday evening and is forecast to be very showery today.
Yesterday I had an early walk then made my crabapple jelly.
Though I do like eating it, I've sadly decided to give up making it and other jellies, I don't need/shouldn't be eating all this sugary stuff and the rest of the family doesn't touch it.
I freegled 2 items including a large piece of tech and have a little more room in my office. There's still a wall of books to work on though....Paperwork has gone but not enough.
Today, I'll be into town to collect a prescription and do various little errands including dropping of a bag of clothes to a charity shop. Then it's back to the laundry and vacuuming and then an afternoon spent at the computer, I need to book things for holidays.
Have a good day everyone if possible.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey with light grey clouds, it’s still feeling warm though
Today I’ve some food shopping to do, the usual housework and then out line dancing this evening. There’s a new more challenging dance class starting so I might give that a try too and see how I get on.
A very Happy belated birthday for yesterday Grammaretto, enjoy the festival today
Aww grandmabatty so cute
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Morning, sun in S Hants has displaced the earlier cloud, high of 27 forecast 😕
Voluntary phone today, I must contact my hairdresser for a trip and podiatrist for a sore big toe.
Daughter and children on their way home from Turkey where they were instrumental in rescuing a kitten yesterday.
Ouch marzipan your poor grandson.
Cleaning out cupboards doesn’t sound like resting R&L tut, tut.
Have a pleasant day.
🦩🦩
Your poor grandson marzipan I hope he’s ok now, it sounds very painful 😥
Good Morning everyone from a pleasantly cool (18c) central south coast. I feel as if my energy levels are rising in balance with the heat reducing!
DH has an appointment with the dentist this afternoon and I have one with the ironing board this morning. Lunch is sorted as we have half a chicken and ham pie left from lunch yesterday. Just need to get a few veg out of the freezer.
Had a long telephone chat with DS yesterday. He is still on crutches and wearing a special boot angled to help his Achilles tendon knit together. His consultant is pleased with his progress but warned him it will be a long job. Apparently David Beckham had exactly the same injury and it took 11 months for him to get back to playing football again. Even when the boot comes off he will have rehab to get fully mobile and that can't be rushed.
Your little DGS sound such a sweetheart, Batty. We treasure their expressions of love for us don't we? I always remember when we arrived in Frankfurt to visit DS and family after a long day driving across from the channel ferry. I rang their doorbell and heard little feet racing down the hall and an excited voice shouting "That's my Granny". Still a joyful memory and she is 24 now!
Best wishes to all with struggles or worries of any kind and hope for a better day for us all.
Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 11°C.
Belated birthday greeting to Grammaretto, a lovely lady.
Llfl, whatca beautiful kilt!
Bellas, are you sure it is actually your bank? I have never had such a call.
BlueSapphire, if it is aspirin, 25mg, you are looking for, it can be bought in Asda.
I was looking at a packet last night, wondering of I would need to take aspirin, because I had a heart episode, after trying to lift heavy boxes. Stupid me.😔
R&L, you are doing too much to soon. Everytime you are lifting your arm, you will be pulling internally, which will take six weeks to heal.
Please look after yourself.
We had a lovely afternoon with Babydoll and her parents. I think I have overdone things, hairdresser, M&S and thenour visit.
The jacket, I bought with 70%off, still has the security tag on it, it wastagged under the arm.🤬
I am staying in bed, I feel a bit rotten today, my angina ghas raised it's ugly head, Things are catching up with me.
Have a good day folks.
Definitely cooler and the drive looks slightly damp so that may be our promised shower - not enough to revive my poor grade but welcome anyway.
Domestic day ahead - Wonderful Cleaner and gardener - so need to be ready and looks as though I am in charge even though I’m not. Very lucky to have reliable help or this house would be too much.
Hope all our invalids and convalescents have a better day.
Thank you Marydoll, it is 75mg; Asda is the other side of town and two bus rides, but I shall bear it in mind, especially as I may be near one on Wednesday.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s cooler. My Yorkshire Lass arrived at 9pm last night and is WFMH (working from my home haha!). She’s at the table now all set up and has a zoom with her line manager in 5.
I have to not chat 🤫 … and perhaps avoid the room mum?
Anyway no hardship as I’m actually meeting uttb for lunch today, yay! I can’t wait to actually see her. I’m getting the 23 bus outside Sainsbury’s later it takes 45 mins to get to Stockport town centre apparently (just checked) and then I’m meeting her in Zizzi.
Morning all from South Lanarkshire, cool and still this morning, a nice break from the constant wind we’ve had recently.
Book Club this morning which I’m looking forward to and then I’m going to stay in the library and deal with the 400 unread emails which I have been ignoring before joining some friends for our post yoga group for coffee etc. Our yoga session has actually been off for the summer but we’ve continued our weekly chats which has been really nice.
Most of the emails will be rubbish that just needs deleted but for some reason I just can’t be bothered sorting them out.
What a lovely thing to hear from your grandson Grandmabatty and you certainly deserve it.
Horrible thing to happen to your boy Marzipan, I’ve never heard of those fish. I hope he is over the shock.
Greyduster, I remember reading a letter from a man in one of our papers a long time ago, saying wasn’t it time to show She Wore a Yellow Ribbon again, he was beginning to forget the words!
Good wishes to everyone for a peaceful day x
Bella like Marydoll just wondering if you can check with your bank before you receive any calls sounds odd
Good morning from a wet 🤣co Armagh !!
Off grocery shopping this morning then back to a bit more garden wrecking ! I’m ripping out some very past their best stuff and spreading more gravel. My bit of raised bed is usually easy to keep pretty , just not this year , succulents died and I’m not bothering again
Cherry tree in the veg patch has been cut down , the roots were getting in the way , but I do miss it
Hoping for a good day for all xx
Wouldn't someone at the allotments taken the fig plants Karma?
Good morning everyone from the west midlands. A slightly cooler day here today inside & out, because DH is still fettling with the loo! Alas he was at the back of the queue when spanner -dexterity skills were being dished-out. He is now bashing it with a tool relentlessly, which means he's stuck, yet again. At least he hasn't caused a flood ...yet.
Wishing everybody a peaceful day ...
Including moi.
A late good morning to you all. I tried earlier but the site seemed to freeze.
Quite cool today here, we did have a small shower last evening but it hardly wet the ground.
Nasty fish those Marzipan hope you DGS is not too sore.
Some household jobs this morning .
This afternoon DH has an eye appointment so I shall be driving in case he has drops. Driving is not something I particularly enjoy and even less so when he is in the car.
Hope today is a pleasant one for all and our poorly GNs find some relief.
BlueSapphire I’m glad you enjoyed Turandot. I sang the leading role for Glasgow’s Year of Culture and it’s a helluva sing! You are right about Nessun Dorma. So many people have no idea of the context and now even women are singing it!😨
Good morning everyone from overcast 19° Lancashire.
It’s quite pleasant out though there’s very little breeze and still no real rain, just a few light showers. MrB and I have been for a walk around the Dock and woodland path. It’s very quiet this morning. The mallard ducks have rec to sitting on the old stone steps at the side of the Dock recently.
Wishing you all a good day whatever you’re doing 🌹
Thank you for the lovely comments about dgs2. Sadly,I won't be tge favourite this morning as I had to drag him into the school ground. His big brother saw a teacher who came and got him. Hopefully he will get used to it. His brother is very anxious about him which is such a shame.
I have made lentil soup, peanut butter cookies and Nutella cookies this morning. A rest is on the cards. Marzipan your poor dgs. I hope he's ok today
Gelisa I wish I’d known you were coming today! There’s a delightful café with both indoor and outdoor seating in the Marina building called The Beach Hut and Morrisons has a café. GrandmaC47 if you ever do make the journey perhaps we could meet for a coffee too.
Blossoming I will let you know if I get there. For many years I came four times a year. I’ve shopped in that Morrisons 😀
