Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it will be a cloudy day. Yesterday I had a good clearing of dead plants from the garden. Some I know will come back next year, but some will not. I also deadheaded the buddleia and gave my lavenders the best haircut they have ever had. I’ve always been reluctant to cut them down too far, but this is a mistake apparently. We will see whether it is next season!

I am having breakfast this morning with DD and the menfolk before they disappear off to the Yorkshire Dales to climb big hills for a couple of days. I offered to cook breakfast for them here, but they have a timeframe to stick to this morning, so it’s easier if I go to them. We will eat at a local cafe we’ve been to before and it was very good. It’s also very popular so I hope there’s parking.

I will then come home and start sorting out everything I need for making jam out of my mountain of plums! I’m going to have to give a lot away this year.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. A bright, sunny but cool morning.

Quaker Meeting this morning, not at my house like before as we now hire a room locally which has disabled access. It's not so homely but it makes sense especially since one of our number is now 100.

I will finish some pottery this afternoon and send a card and present to my DGD1 who turns 20 soon. However did that happen!

Tomorrow afternoon I'm expecting a new volunteer helper for the next 2 weeks. Her room is ready.

Happy birthday Luluaugust I hope you have fun 😊.🍰
Congratulations to the UTBBs on your anniversary 🎊🥂🍾

I'm glad you've been resting a little gMattie
May it all be over soon Rosesandlilac and you can convalesce at home. Sending hugs.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

uttb I bet you’re quite excited to go over to your granddaughter’s new home for your Sunday roast! And kind of you to shelve your plans about your bedroom in the short term.

ginny such trauma from a bicycle ride and just as they were setting off for home too! I hope the lad heals quickly.

Thanks Brook a few weeks back our eldest GS was knocked off his motorcycle cycle and has a broken tibia and fibia.
Protective clothing saved him from more injury too.
We have asked our middle GS not to follow the trend, cycle accidents that is.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I had better get up soon! Church first and then I’m not sure about the rest of the day.

I had good news yesterday. One of my nieces is expecting a third baby next year. It’s unusual these days to hear of three children in a family. She won’t be a stay at home mum though. She’s a solicitor in Melbourne.

Well, have good day everyone especially those of you with birthdays 🎉 or difficult appointments to look forward to.

Good morning all from a bright and coolish North Leicestershire.

We had a lovely time at the showcase and then a nice meal by the water at the marina with DD3 and DGD3.

Today, i will cook gammon as soon as I get up and we will have it in the garden later. DS2 is calling in this afternoon bringing us a chilli plant.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from sunny S E Essex 🙋‍♀️

We had a lovely day at DS3’s yesterday celebrating GS’s 18th birthday, lovely food and company. It was food to. see the other grandparents as we get on well (they used to live in our road). Birthday boy had his closest friends there who he has known seen reception and some of their parents who we have known since then. It was lovely to see the GC from 6 - 18 all getting on, and playing games (from football to darts, we banned the young ones from beer pong 🙀

Lots of reminiscing, good food and laughter.

Today we are having a lazy one, I shall read in the garden u til its time to make some salads to go with the BBQ which DH will cook.

Happy Birthday luluaugust 🎂🥂🍾

Hope you can relax today roseandlilac 🌸

Marydoll you need to be encased in bubble wrap 😺

Good morning from a sunny NE, must be cool though as the heating is on.
Lovely afternoon and evening with DS and both GDs, they brighten the day.
GD2 brought a portfolio with her, lists of everything she must achieve before attending her new school in September. She will be studying A level music and must compose several pieces in readiness for the start of term.
Last week she had a driving lesson in York, a 90 minute journey but she said it was worth it. She has one more private lesson at the end of this month and then she is 17 at the beginning of September, her lessons are all booked.
After dinner and piano playing GDs and I watched Les Miserables with Alfie Boe in the lead.
Last week GD2 had worked backstage for the musical, a youth theatre production.
GD1 is a very good cook and showed me photos of the birthday cake she made for her boyfriend, he prefers more savoury food so she also gave him a cake sized pork pie.
Girls are going to visit their other GPs, the other end of the country so I won't see them for a while.

Happy birthday luluaugust.
Have a good day everyone.

GG, bubble wrap, would not allow me to get up to any mischief.

My biggest concern at the moment is covering up the very noticeable gap, where my crown was. Three weeks is a long time to wait for the dental procedure.

Remember the Carl Simon song, You"re so vain. 😉

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
DD arrived from the south yesterday evening, changed and was picked up by an old school friend for an anniversary party. I was happy to read and watch tv.

I painted a card earlier to go with a gift for my sister in law and realised at the end, it looked rather rude…it was a flower, but came out in it’s abstract style looking like something else😁 I’ll do another today and clean out the inside of my car. It’s having an MOT soon and I’m shamed into it.

Thoughts to R&L and birthday greetings to luluaugust🌺

Good morning from the east coast. Looking forward to some rain next week though hopefully not on the mornings I have GS.

Yesterday we took our DD to the airport to fly to Palma for 3 nights with one of her bridesmaids. Now DSIL is home for eight weeks he sent her off to have a break. DGD1 was so upset as she’s so clingy to her mum. The girls will have fun though with their daddy.
Later we helped celebrate my best friend’s birthday. She was very emotional as it’s her first without her DH. Everyone wrote lovely things in her birthday cards and she cried often though had fun and enjoyed being surrounded by her GC.

Today we are visiting my dad and step mum and eating at a golf club. It’s lovely and their gluten free options are really good.
We need to call at a garden centre on the way as Dad likes their steak pies. My dad will have roast beef and Yorkshire puddings at the restaurant. I love to see him enjoying his food.

Wishing Luluaugust a very happy birthday 🎉
Thoughts to Marydoll 💐

Hope you all have an enjoyable Sunday. 🌼

I had a similar front tooth situation a few years ago MD.
I hated it but I really don't think others noticed it too much. or they never said

I'm halfway through the implant procedure now treat to self 🤣

Good morning everyone from another bright and sunny 🌞Northampton day. Yesterday had a nice cooling breeze.

Did my extended shop yesterday visiting Matalan, Aldi, B&M and Lidl as well as the usual M&S and Sainsbury's. Stocked up on toiletries from Aldi and Lidl, and got a pretty new bra from Matalan at half price. I have decided I've been wearing the wrong size, so I've gone up in the band size and down a cup size, which seems to work.
Was 3pm by the time I got home so had a restful afternoon reading my Saturday newspaper.

Nothing much planned for today, except for washing the towels which are now in the machine. May sit out in the shade later if it's not too hot.

Happy birthday 🎂 lulu!

Wishing all a pleasant day.
