How many pair of twins have you met?

In my junior school we had 4 sets of twins, 3 were girls and 1 boys. I could differentiate the boys and one set of the girls, but the others were so difficult to tell apart, and used to make it harder by swapping ribbons etc to mix it up.

I don't think I've ever met twins, and yet I find the whole concept fascinating.

I knew one pair of twins. They went to the boy's Grammar School and I met them at rehearsals for the joint Play we put on. I mentioned them to my mother. She said "But you already knew them!" Seems she and their mother would turn up at the baby clinic at the same time. My memory might be good but it didn't extend back quite that far!

Sadly, one of them was knocked down and killed not long after we all left school.

I knew one pair of identical twins at school, but then became the father of twins, so I got to know quite a few at the local twins' club. I knew another pair in the course of my work, and know another pair now. There is a pair in DW's family, but I have never met them.

One pair - male and female. They were my daughter’s friends - two of the loveliest young people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing.

Non identical twins run in families and mine has lots. They are no more alike in any way than any other siblings.
I’ve seen identical triplets about six times, most were boys.

We have identical twin nieces and our DiL is also an identical twin.

Both our DD’s had twins in their primary school classes and one had two sets of twins in her class.

Just two I think. One set in my class at grammar school, and I taught a non identical, girl, boy pair.

Again, what does it matter?

I used to teach twins and they were so identical that even their mother had trouble identifying them. One had a small mole on their face which was the only way we could tell which one was which.

One of my daughter's friends had, at one point, five boys 3 and under; twins, a single and twins again!

In Finland on holiday years ago I met little blonde twins - and they are much more common there.

Also, at a playgroup, I once saw two-year-old triplets... very confusing to see three identical little girls running around!

In my school, there were two pairs of identical twins in my grade. One pair wore different coloured glasses, and one pair had different hair styles, so you could tell them apart. Another girl in my grade had older sisters who were identical twins. I also have cousins who are twins (boy and girl), and my stepdaughter has a brother and sister who are twins, her mum and stepfather's children.

I have a twin brother, it's a very special relationship to be a twin. I went to school with a few sets. As a teacher I have taught a few twins over the years but only one set of triplets. Two of my uncles married woman who were twins. And I have a few friends who are twins.
