Good Morning Thursday 30th July 2026

Good morning, high clouds here on the hillside in south Glos, a cooler day today.
I had two surprises yesterday! An email early on saying my pre-op is today (talk about short notice), followed by a second one in the afternoon saying my surgery is next Tuesday.
I’m shocked but highly relieved to finally have an end in sight. It’s taken 23 weeks to get here.
So, it’s all systems go for the next few days to be ready. I have a friend coming to collect me post op as the volunteer driver service insists, rightly, on there being someone if collecting post surgery.
I’ll need to write detailed instructions for DH about the dogs, watering the garden etc., it’s on my ‘to do’ list.
I’m hoping I can get my hair trimmed too before I go in.
Plenty to keep me busy for the next few days 😁

Good morning from Sheffield

My sister in law is home after her op. It all went well. She has to wait 4 weeks for her results whether she needs further treatment.

Thouroughly enjoyed the film Oddessey last night. It was a long film, three hours but it went very quickly, and I didn’t start fidgeting which is a sign I was engrossed.
I have the two grandsons 9 and 6 all day today. We shall find a water park to take them too. The family are here later for tea. I’m doing crispy chicken and Chinese rice followed by trifle.

Good morning from s somerset, cooler today thank goodness

There are signs of slow-down outside in the garden and allotment, I am getting enough produce to be able to eat with the seasons but it is a wonder to see how fast the winter squash are growing

Today I am planning a longer bike ride, e bike as it is ages since I ventured on the longer ride, I want to leave by 9, to be back for lunch, followed by a free day.

I expect to be cutting out a finally perfected T shirt from one of the beautiful interlock fabrics and sleeve length depends on the amount of fabric. The photo is my finished T shirt with a scoop neck, it is lovely on and is a keeper, the pattern joins my other TnT patterns that I can turn to at any time ( TnT = tried and true) Today I will make a crewe neck T

It will be a more `normal` day for me, now that the heat is dissipating, Doing anything during the heatwaves has been a struggle

Good morning from the east coast. It’s another lovely day but the heat has gone now for the foreseeable future with the sea breeze.
I’m picking up grandson for the morning. He had a lovely morning yesterday we didn’t get the full routine done because when he saw the water set up yesterday he was happy. He had a deep paddling pool with lots of cups and jugs for pouring so that kept him happy until he was picked up by DS’s partner.

My dad had some good news yesterday his cancer on his head is operable and he’ll only be in hospital a day under a local anaesthetic. It hasn’t spread anywhere else. He’ll have that done in 3weeks or so. We are going over on Sunday to see him.

Hoping those suffering stress and illness have an easier day today. 💐

Good news about your health yesterday Mick, I’m pleased for you.

We had so much rain yesterday, I wish we could share some with those of you who are suffering in the heat.

I didn’t venture out but made a bit of a dent in the ironing pile and prepared a meal for today before sitting down with my book. DH has been doing the lion’s share of the dog walking as he’s keen to keep his mobility up. I really should join him.

Childminding today, I’m not sure what we’ll do with them, perhaps a walk in Holyrood Park, the cafe at the palace is good if it isn’t too busy.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and dry. My living room windows are steamed up, so the temperature must have dropped in the night. Time to get the dehumidifier out.

Yesterday was very quiet and peaceful and I didn't do much at all. I had very painful feet all day and night. Possibly a result of walking a lot on Monday. The weather wasn't great yesterday either with lots of rain.
Today I have an early hour cut at 8 so I need to be out at 7.30. I intend to make lime curd today for my dsil. I shall see how my feet are later. Have a good day all.

Good work, llfl. I rarely cut every thing before starting a patchwork, unless I have something specific in mind. What pattern are you doing?

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. From a high of 30 degrees yesterday it will plummet to 25 today!

I woke early with a cough. My cold hasn’t shifted yet and I feel a bit grim.

I finished my patchwork preparation yesterday. I have 195 squares organised and ready to sew.

It is the Book Group in our local cafe today but I’m not sure I should go. Probably not wise to inflict my bug on people. I hope I recover by tomorrow although that is looking unlikely. It is a summer outing with the WI to the theatre.

Good morning from Malta where another hot day is forecast 36°C. It seems it will get hotter next week but that is to be expected in August which is nearly always the hottest month.

The boys came yesterday after summer school, DGS2 fast asleep so he went to bed whilst DGS1 and I had a nice time together.

When DGS2 awoke he was hungry so sat and ate his lunch. He has a good appetite!

No plans today other than a bit of ironing, might push the steam mop round as well if the mood takes me!

Good morning from a clear Bristol.
FAB cafe was fairly busy with very happy attendees. For some reason, the church was very hot and I was sweating like the proverbial…. I loathe high temperatures.
The meeting with Teflon in the afternoon was long, whinge and achieved nothing at all. It was no comfort to be told that some estates were having afar worse time. Shows what rubbish managers Anchor is; also how uncaring they are to leaseholders as opposed to renters!
This morning I have a physiotherapist appointment, the taichi.
