Good morning all from Glasgow, where it 12°C,

I too favour hydrocoloied dressings, my house is like a pharmacy. The least scratch and I bleed profusely. In fact, I must buy long armed gardening gloves. I fell into a bramble bush yesterday, what a mess my arm was in.

DH has a cardiology appointment today, things seems to ne moving. Both his BP and behaviour continue to be erratic. I feel quite sad, but I am trying so hard to be positive and not fall out with him.
He will be lucky if he even makes it to the hospital, for he thinks he is my driving instructor: I have been driving for fifty years, yet I have so much still to learn.😉

Yesterday, I had three missed calls on my phone. This made me quite anxious, when I realised that they were from the hospital. The one a few weeks ago was worrying.
Thankfully, it was only to check I will be attending my rheumatology appointment on Monday. You bet I will!
I desperately need help.
I couldn't believe, we are nearly at the end of July, when I checked the calendar..

Morning all from an already warm West Oxfordshire.

Today is granddaughter’s last day with us. Her dad will be collecting her later today. They got back from Vienna late last night but he has to go to work today!

We will make a gluten free chocolate cake. I’ve made the recipe before and it’s delicious. Porridge Oats in place of flour! This will be a present for elder son and his partner.

Good morning from a cloudy Suffolk where it is only 20 degrees and forecast to get no higher than 21 today.

We have brambles growing in the damson tree near where we park our cars at the top of the garden. I picked a large bowlful yesterday of big juicy ones yesterday afternoon. I can’t remember picking any in previous years as early as July.
Blackberry and apple crumble is definitely a pudding for autumn.

We have talked for a long time now about buying new sofas but have done nothing about it. Today may be the day we start looking……but it may be put off for another day!

Good Morning from a warm dry Morecambe Bay. I didn’t sleep well as my ear was bothering me. I feel absolutely washed out with the lurgy though my breathing is better, I’ve stopped coughing and my nose has dried up. I’m convinced I’ve had Covid but the test I took was clear.
I need to pull myself together as DS3 is bringing his dog for us to look after while they go on holiday. It will be bedlam for twenty four hours or so until the two dogs settle down.
DS2 heard yesterday his house purchase should complete on Friday. I need to read the conveyancers report which he e mailed to me last night and check all is well. I had a quick glance at it last night there seems to be a lot about the leasehold which has an annual payment of £1.50! Apparently it’s not been collected for many years. Poor DS is very uneasy about having a mortgage and the legalese will terrify him. It also means it’s time for me to hand over his deposit! Nothing will change for him as he’s been living in the house for over eleven years . Even the mortgage payments are virtually the same as his rent. He will however be able to get rid of some of the landlord’s furniture. It was classed as half furnished when he moved in and he was given an inventory of everything right down to the number of picture hooks. He's off shift this week so I’ll suggest he gets the train up here and I’ll go through everything with him.
The noisy workmen are clattering away so I won’t bother trying to get a few more minutes rest. Take care everyone 🌸

Good morning everyone from Lancashire.
Yesterday was a laundry and shopping morning and then the afternoon was spent in the garden.

The water in the solar powered fountain had all but evaporated while we were in Anglesey so I cleaned out the container and topped up the water. The 'fountain' isn't as spectacular as the picture on the box, but it makes a bit of a splashing sound.

Today I'm making up a picnic to take to the park. We're meeting a friend and walking down together. The little chap can enjoy the playground equipment and we'll kick a football about. While the weather is good I'm trying to use free facilities.
We have 2 very nice play centres us but they are expensive.

I think you should audition for The Repair Shop, Karma! I admire your bravery in taking something like that to pieces. My Dad was very good at mending things and he taught me a lot of basic things such as replacing a plug, but of course that's now an obsolete skill.

I’ve just read through all the posts while enjoying my TiB. Such heartening tales of kindness, cleverness, industriousness (big word first thing on a Tuesday morning - 3 Across 😁) and caring. I love that we all share our plans for the day ahead. Most of us don’t know any posters in real,life but it is such a great connection isn’t it? Thank you Mick as ever.

Good morning Mick and everyone from cool, grey Carlisle. But I doubt it will rain, it will probably clear to be hot and sunny again.
Even bigger plants are showing signs of stress now so even more watering to be done. No end in sight for it yet.
Apart from the watering I just got on with the usual laundry and housework then relaxed in the afternoon.

Today will be much the same as yesterday. I have actually just come back from an early walk. One of the swan families has lost another cygnet. I found the remains in an adjacent field....piles of soft down and absolutely nothing else, the classic signs of a sparrow hawk at work. Though I would've thought the cygnets were getting a bit big and heavy for them now.

Now to finish off the laundry and do a bit of bathroom and kitchen cleaning.

Bellasnana Very wise to add electrolytes in the heat. My mother flatlined in the ER, the team stampeded through the door and successfully brought her back. She had been drinking too much water, eating very little. I will never forget that.

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast. More walking for exercise yesterday and when I did use the car later in the day, on returning, the automatic garage door had stopped working again. Tried it in the evening and it started up again. The engineer is coming this morning as my car could get trapped inside if it’s unreliable. Window cleaner today too.

My solicitors’s bill had a typo leading to confusion, so I’m getting a new itemised bill (still be hefty). Financial things do bother me, but my flying DD, now in Barcelona, is a great help.

Bellasnana you mentioned Soller in Majorca yesterday and my late DH’s cousin had a house there. Our family holidays took place there through the 70s and 80s, a magical place and I’d recommend it to anyone. My DH’s last continental holiday was taken there, sadly.

I still have the disabling pain in my back and right leg. Chiropractor this evening.

DH's brother and recently widowed sister are coming out for lunch and to see the house for possibly the last time. We held her 21st birthday party here in 1981!

I shall ask my French helpers to make one of their wonderful salads and fruit salads and we can eat in the garden. She is strictly vegan.
Last night's haggis and neeps was all eaten but I don't think they'll be back for more.

The car alarm incident sounds worrying brook
My plumber once lost all his power tools from his van outside his house. Noone would insure a vulnerable van.

Good morning from an overcast Stockport, cooler but forecast to rise to 25.
Yesterday’s funeral went as well as funerals do, my friend was nearly 90 and had been frail for a couple of years.
Her family were very stoic about her death as she wasn’t living , just going through the motions.
Apparently she just faded away over two weeks of sleeping with very occasional lucid moments.
As I am 90 myself next it was a huge jolt about my own mortality.

Just before I left home my GD and her partner received a phone call to say they could pick up the keys to their new home.
They went up as soon as possible and I was invited to go back in the evening but I was just too tired after socialising for a few hours, I shall go when it is convenient, they will move in at the weekend.
Cleaning including carpets is being carried out and broadband/ internet being installed.

I am having a quiet day today, reflecting on 55 years of knowing my friend with its good times and also the others.

Good morning from sunny Wiltshire. My garden looks so parched and I’m so worried about the bees searching for pollen. I wish we could have several hours of rain. I slept for 8 hours last night, something I only achieve on a few nights of the year.

Last pickup for this school year yesterday. Just as I was walking past the school the school year 3 trip to the Roman villa appeared (it was postponed from the very fierce heatwave last month). I waited and was spotted by GD3 who rushed over for a hug before returning to her classroom.

GS2 watched Steve Backshall videos when we got home. He is obsessed with nature atm. GD3 asked to listen to a football song called “Die Die”. I thought she must be mistaken but when she asked the Google assistant to play it, it did. It was by Shakira(?). Then she asked if there was a YouTube video which there was. She knew all the words but it was very raunchy. . She will be 8 next month and I think she is leaving the world of unicorns behind.

GS1 was competing in a national swimming competition in Sheffield on Sunday. His team from Abingdon Vale came 2nd in his heat. All 4 swam 200m in a relay. I do feel for DS who ferries him every day for training and competitions. Such commitment.

Yesterday was hectic, off to see a garden we visited when new , now it’s like the curates egg !
Too much elbow height “wild flowers” and little colour , it’s off the list
Next to look for footwear, I like the support of trainers , but they seem to be all black now , or pristine white ,
Found women’s walking shoes in Mountain Warehouse , in beige and coffee , fitted , good support !
Then Tesco , my goodness prices are something else , was glad to get home

Marydoll I am another whose husband likes to give a running commentary on my driving. Like you I have been driving over 50yrs. In fact I did once stop the car and ask him if he wanted to get out and walk, he didn’t 😂. Haven’t done much the last few weeks but going on a River cruise on the Seine next week. Had to go to the local outlet yesterday and bought a pair of wide Sketchers as I know my feet will swell with the heat. They were £95.99 reduced to £54.49 so was quite happy.
I do read all your posts daily and enjoy keeping up with your goings on. Hope today is easier on those struggling.

Book club and coffee afterwards yesterday, a nice group of women, we always find lots to to talk and (mostly) laugh about.

Grayduster your description of your feelings on the loss of your lifelong friend resonate very strongly with me, and I’m sure, others. Such a relationship is a very special gift, my thoughts have been with you.

Visited my friend with rather severe memory loss yesterday, her husband loves to tell really funny stories of their various adventures together and she definitely responds, but he is beginning to look a little frayed.

Ear clearing this afternoon which I will be very grateful for, I and everyone else are wearying of ‘sorry?’

Housework (well, Wonderful Cleaner) this morning but nothing else today or indeed for the rest of the week as neighbours and family depart for holiday trips. Fortunately I have plenty to read, sparrows to watch enjoying the bird bath, and some gentle dead heading so a rather small life but a comfortable one.

I bought myself these Pink Dots, and they were gorgeous! Notice the word ''were'', as they've both been well scoffed! Also, they were on discount, were £1.51 but dropped to 76p! Thanks, Spar!

I'm cursing myself as I can't remember the name of it and Googling it hasn't helped, but I recently watched a cheesy horror movie about this lone woman, uniform like a forest ranger, who goes into the woods, alone, looking for a 7 ft tall, snarling, spikey-toothed, yellow-eyed creature that looks like a cross between a Bigfoot and a Werewolf.

She's initially chased up a tree by a huge snarling Alsatian, who, to me, looks more like a big soft teddy bear that just wants to hug her.

There's this bloke who tries to ''help'' her, but his dad is the creepy old bloke who owns the creature, and Dad's brother, Uncle Bill, literally looks like a troll. He has these huge eyes and a massive nose with a great big mole on it!

The creature keeps escaping its enclosure. There are images of huge piles of bones ... it only eats people... that's why so many hunters and tourists have gone missing... and Dad says ''You escaped again? Don't I feed you enough?!''

In an argument with his son about the lone woman, he says ''She's too pretty to eat!''

The entire ''acting'' from all of them was definitely not Oscar-worthy, more like cringe-worthy, but was hilarious!

The question I have is: If the creature only eats humans, how come it snatched the dog?! Worry not! No dog was harmed during the making of the film! I cried laughing!

I think the creature's name was Voren, Varrin, something like that.

I want you all to misbehave as much as you can!
