Good morning from yet another grey day in Bristol. Sunshine and showers, but the wind yesterday was something else; one minute still, the next being blown away.
When I got dressed and went out for the paper as usual yesterday, I stopped at the greengrocer’s for some fruit. I saw a box (3kg) of blueberries, bought it and made jam with it in the following 2 hours.
By the time I got to church for coffee, I was very tired, but the jam is very popular.
The rest of the day was spent sewing (I’m edging the squares) before deciding on the backing, the arrangement of the squares and so on), cooking my various meals, reading and watching tv.
Today, church and potter, more sewing no doubt.
I hope those travelling are safe, and everyone has a peaceful, blessed Sunday. 🐦‍🔥 Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Morning all from Malta.

Back home today! So breakfast, finish packing and off to the airport. It is such a short distance but I don’t think we’ll actually get home until around 11 pm.

We have a busy week coming up. OH has a meeting tomorrow afternoon and must also visit his bees. He is very worried about them as they are not thriving. I want to talk to our garden lady about buying a jacaranda tree in a pot. I’m also looking forward to trying out my new sewing machine. I’ve also got Craft Group. On Friday I’m meeting younger son in London and we’re going to Buyers Day at the Summer Exhibition in the Royal Academy. He’s then coming home for the weekend for the first time since the week before Christmas.

Have a good day everyone, I hope there’s a bit of sunshine ☀️.

Good morning from Malta where it’s hot and sunny.🇲🇹

My treasures arrived at 8.30am yesterday and were absolutely sweet. They stripped off and went straight into the paddling pool although DGS2 is more interested in the hosepipe and insists the pool needs more water.

He also spent a while ‘cleaning’ their playhouse which involved a lot of water being thrown around but he actually did a good job!

We then went up to the local park where they had a whale of a time with two older girls who kindly played along with them, then we walked back home and played until DGS2 fell asleep at 1.30pm. DD3 came for them at 2.30 and I missed them. They are such fun to have around.

A quiet day today, Mass then a chat with my pal in Leicester who is having awful pain from sciatica at the moment. Then the Men’s final which I’m hoping will be won by an Italian but I’m not holding my breath.

grandMattie I honestly don’t know how you do it, you’re amazing!🤩

I have booked the pest control to come - first available appointment 30th June so I’m nervously checking for unwanted ‘visitors’ until then! 🪳

Hoping you all have a good day.🤗

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

DGD’s netball team didn’t take the win yesterday but I’m hoping that they will manage to get over the disappointment and see what an achievement it was to get to the final. The other team were just better on the day.

DD was hosting an end of season party for the team last night but we bowed out and came home to relax.

Mass this morning and back this evening as the annual service to celebrate the start of our town’s Gala Week is being held in our church. We will then have tea and sandwiches to our visitors so the hall will have to be set up in between.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Bellasnana Sun 07-Jun-26 05:55:34

Safe journey Llfl. You seem to have packed a lot into your week. I hope you’ve enjoyed yourselves. Also hope the bees are ok.x

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
I've been awake for hours so I am popping in to say hello and have a cuppa and try for an hour or two more sleep 😴

I don't have the will or energy to make jam gMattie well done you.

You have a busy week planned LLfL safe journey home.

I had a house viewing yesterday. A very nice couple who were here for over an hour.

Then the volunteers' tea party which included prosecco, strawberries and cream and karaoke!

During the day 4 friends helped me to organise my books and have a clear out of one room. It's not clear but it's better.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

Good morning from Cornwall where it's dry and calm and clear-skied. Yesterday's winds were phenomenal. At one point I clung to a wall on the way to the shops. My granddaughter came to visit and we watched intrigued as the branches of the tall trees above my patio pirouetted and the rain lashed down. The atmosphere was wonderful, so energising. We had a gentle few hours together, she watching pony antics on YouTube and I making bolsters for my new day bed. Meanwhile her nine-year-old brother was at a football awards celebration with his dad, where he was voted Players' Player and was awarded a cup by a well-known guest footballer. 🥳😊

Today, after church, I'll hop on a bus to my arty daughter-in-law's new home for my first meal there. She does a mean roast dinner. I'm looking forward to seeing how she and my grandson have settled in as she is a great home-maker and I'm so happy that Cornwall Housing provided them with this cosy forever home just when they needed it. There is so much to be grateful for.

Good morning from N.Bucks. We had a lot of rain yesterday but non pred today , just dull and cool.
Maybe the garden will get weeded and tidied this morning .
This afternoon we are going to a Golden Wedding celebration for some friends we have know since our children’s early schooldays.
Safe travels to those on the move and hope our poorlies find some relief. A good day wished for all.

Ashcombe Sun 07-Jun-26 06:24:35

Good morning from a dry and overcast Torbay. It’s a relief that the wind has dropped now.

Due to the weather yesterday, the Summer Fayre for church was held indoors so it won’t have benefited from passing trade as it does when held on the park. No doubt I shall hear about it when I’m at church this morning.

Our beloved priest, who took early retirement two years ago, has died following a short illness in which he was found to have various cancers. So sad. He was a wonderful character and led his flock well. Peace after pain. ✝️

A blessed Sunday to you all. 🦩💐✝️🥰🦩

RosesandLilac Sun 07-Jun-26 06:24:47

Good morning, it’s more like November here than June, cold, cloudy and somewhat dismal weather.
The woodpeckers were busy yesterday feeding their fledgling who’s pretty much the same size as its parent. We’re so lucky having many birds visiting our garden.
I didn’t get anywhere with starting the candlewick embroidery yesterday, the kit is incomplete 😡 I bought it on Vinted so I will contact the seller. I have a number of others to choose from so that’s the plan this morning, I have set up a cross stitch and will do some today.
Have a lovely day 🌹

Good morning from s somerset, dull cool and drab weather today

Yesterday was nice indoors, I varied my day and slowly made half a dress, the bodice, collar and sleeves are finished. Today I will sew the rest of it, the skirt, pockets and hem. I enjoyed making it, it keeps my brain active and is satisfying

I will carry on sewing today and get myself out for a walk, although the weather does not entice me

Grandmabatty Sun 07-Jun-26 06:56:21

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and cloudy. It feels cool. baubles that's a shame for your dad's team.
Yesterday I had breakfast with my friend and we learned it was the last day of our favourite wee waitress who is moving on to better things. She's a tonic and will be much missed. I then visited dd and the boys for a couple of hours. It was nice to spend time with them, although dgs1 was out playing with a friend nearby a d dgs2 disappeared to play in his bedroom. Funnily enough, I bought rhubarb to make jam too.
Today im up sharp as I have a very early tesco delivery then I'll make the jam. The rest of the day will be quiet. Enjoy your day all

Grandmabatty Sun 07-Jun-26 06:56:58

Dgd's team, that should say

M0nica Sun 07-Jun-26 06:57:48

Good morning from Cambridgeshire, At the moment it is bright and sunny. The sun is streaming into my study where I am.

I am up early this morning and feeling really bright. I have been under the weather for the last few days as I have an abscess somewhere uncomfortable, but the antibiotics are at last working. They seem also to have banished the runny nose and slight cough I have had over the last few months.

Cossy Sun 07-Jun-26 07:02:37

Good morning all

Sun peeping through in St Osyth.

Bit tired as bad night and awake earlier than planned due to a noisy magpie!!

Have a great Sunday one and all.

🙂🙂

Good morning from Berkshire where I am with my DD, arriving yesterday from the north. The journey down by train was ok apart from a hold up at Crewe and I had a lovely meal cooked by DD in the evening.

We had an early night as my sister from London arrives around 9.30 and DD is driving us to Cornwall for a few days. I’m glad to hear the wind has dropped Marzipan,

Sorry to your of your loss Ashcombe and thoughts to all

Redcar Sun 07-Jun-26 07:37:18

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s cool but sunny at the moment, I think a dry day is forecast. DD1 and her DH and the dog visited in the morning while the DGDs were at their dance and drama class. My SIL brought down some boxes from the loft, so I sorted those out and put a whole box full into the recycling. DD2 visited in the afternoon and sorted through a box of jigsaw puzzles but decided they could all go to the charity shop.

hollysteers I hope you have a pleasant few days in Cornwall with your sister and DD.

M0nica I’m pleased the antibiotics are working and you are feeling better.

ash sad news about your former parish priest.
Well done to all DGC whose talents and achievements have been recognised.

Thinking of all who are in the sick bay and hoping you feel better soon.

Have as good a day as possible folks.

Gagagran Sun 07-Jun-26 07:39:30

Good Morning all from a still chilly central south coast but at least the wind has eased and the rain has supposedly moved on.

I had a gastritis flare up yesterday afternoon on top of the streaming cold I am in the midst of so felt distinctly unwell. This morning, I am still streaming and feeling washed out but did get some sleep. I am not hopeful of being well enough to sing in the choir concert next Saturday unless I make a rapid recovery.

Safe travels to everyone on the move and may all the crafters on here, who leave me in awe of their skills, have a creative day.

All of us in the sick bay will try our best to buck up and return to normal duties as soon as possible! (including the bees LLF - maybe they are just cold and damp?)

luluaugust Sun 07-Jun-26 07:41:10

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Another quiet day, a call to DB who has had some tests but I don’t think he will have results yet, he gets very agitated.
My cleaner is still on holiday so I will have to tackle some floor cleaning not an easy task now
Best wishes to all

GrannyGravy13 Sun 07-Jun-26 07:48:03

Astitchintime Sun 07-Jun-26 07:53:42

Good morning from a dry NE Midlands. Washing machine is already on - been far too wet this week so taking advantage of a dry day with a light breeze.
Have a safe and pleasant day one and all!

BlueSapphire Sun 07-Jun-26 08:00:50

Good morning everyone from a brightish Northampton, but showers expected late afternoon. Yesterday was.very.similar with heavy showers throughout the day.

Had a very quiet day, reading the newspapers, and watching rugby on tv. And of course applying my eye drops - which needs doing 7 times throughout the day at regular intervals for three weeks.

Today will be similar! Although I may find a film to watch this afternoon.

Dinner will be a roast gammon with a berry sauce (courtesy of Sainsburys).

Wishing all a pleasant day.

brook2704 Sun 07-Jun-26 08:05:02

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a dry bright start to the day
Yesterday was busy, dgd and their new puppy were no trouble at all, dgd is so besotted with the puppy it was lovely to see them playing together. Today I’m hoping to get some gardening done today, there’s quite a bit to do and I enjoy being outside. Other than that nothing planned, it’s lovely just to have time to potter
Well done to your footballing dgs marzipan a little star in the family there!
Safe travels home llfl a busy week ahead!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Gelisajams Sun 07-Jun-26 08:08:38

Good morning from a cloudy Morecambe Bay. We thoroughly enjoyed watching DGD who was the second princess in the English Youth Ballet (thanks for the correction Ash I was given spurious information!)
I didn’t enjoy Manchester though. I felt quite intimidated- some would call it vibrant. Put me up a mountain or to wander through a quiet wood any day. Each to their own I suppose, the grandchildren love the city.
My Sil and her husband who had been looking after Crazy dog stayed overnight and we will go for a peaceful walk together when everyone is up and about.
Take care everyone 🌸
